I tried with the kbookocr bin :
    one@linux:~/Desktop/usr/bin> ./kbookocr
./kbookocr: error while loading shared libraries: libpoppler-qt4.so.3: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
    one@linux:~/Desktop/usr/bin>

I have that library installed , make soft link from /usr/lib64 to /usr/lib but It does not accept it as well

Perhaps it does work on x32 enviroment and does not compile on x64 one.

for x64 platform try to do the next steps:
    1. open KBookocr.pro in TextEditor
    2. replace string
    "LIBS += -L/usr/lib -lpoppler-qt4"
    to
    "LIBS += -L/usr/lib64 -lpoppler-qt4"

PS: make sure that not only libpoppler-dev installed, bit libpoppler-qt4-dev installed too
