It is not wrong to charge for GPL software. All that is required is that for people who you have distributed the binary to, there must be an option for them to get the source code for the cost of distrbution (i.e., postage and packing, on the internet the cost is negliable and therefore you can't really charge for the source code.)

There is nothing in the GPL that says that you must distribute the source code to absolutely everyone, only that if you distribute the binary to a person, that person must be given access to the sourcecode.

However, there is also nothing stopping the first person who buys the binary from requesting the source code and then putting that source code on the web. - Sep 25 2006

Not yet, it's on the "todo" list.

There are a number of features that, when complete will cause kdenlive to move up by another version number. (e.g. 0.1 to 0.2 as opposed to 0.1.0 to 0.1.1) Separate sound editing is one such feature.

The next such feature to be finished is likely to be support for effects and transitions, the next feature after that is likely to be separate video/audio. - Jan 10 2004
