Ok, I have some time now, I will try to update the plugin - Oct 15 2014
Thank you very much, I've added the change to (future) version 2.4 - Jul 04 2014
Ok, but what about the sync problem? the crashes are still being produced by the ion jit compiler - Feb 16 2014
WARNING: BACKUP KWALLET FIRST!!!!!!!!
and try: http://www.guillermomolina.com.ar/archivos/category/1-firefox-kwallet-extension?download=27:firefox-kwallet-extension-version-2-3-beta&start=20

It saves timestamps, but I can not be sure if it solves the problem. - Jan 29 2014
Ok, lets try that - Jan 28 2014
I also noticed sync problems. The passwords storage and the sync subsystems are separate and independent. The storage subsystem is asked to read its passwords (when synchronizing to the net) and compare/write passwords (when synchronizing from the net). There is no problems there (at least the logs say so), my guess is that the sync subsystem is buggy. - Jan 28 2014
The master firefox is part of the firefox's subsystem, if you add your own subsystem you have to implement it by yourself, Chrome DO save its passwords in kwallet. It's not necessary to crypt them, all other programs don't do that.
- Jan 28 2014
I think is more a bug in the JIT compiler than a compatibility issue. I've tracked the segfault to that module of firefox using its debug info, in order to see what is causing it to segfault I would need far more knowledge of its internals than the knwoledge I have. Sorry about that. - Jan 14 2014
It seems that the crashes experienced by the users are related to the new Javascript JIT Compiler Called ION Baseline. Disabling it seems to solve the problem. You can disable it by setting javascript.options.baselinejit.* in about:config to false - Jan 13 2014
I am sorry, but with these logs don't give me much, the crash seems to be pointing at some weerd "epoll_wait: Bad file descriptor" error, there is no single line refering to the plugin's library (libkdewallet_x86.so or libkdewallet_x86_64.so). I use Ubuntu 13.10 32b/64b to compile, and it doesn't seem to crash here, but as I said before I use firefox just for testing the plugin, I don't use it all the time and with many other extensions. I will try to compare my plugin to others, in order to see if there are api errors, but there are not many others xul-kde-qt pluggins out there. - Jan 01 2014
Can you give me kdebug output and/or firefox console output? - Dec 27 2013
Try version 2.2 - Dec 23 2013
I don't use firefox any more, but I will try to make the plugin work again - Dec 23 2013
Here: http://www.guillermomolina.com.ar/index.php/es/archivos/category/1-firefox-kwallet-extension?download=6:firefox-kwallet-extension-version-1010
But remember it's not an automatic process - Feb 06 2012
Version 1.0.9 for firefox 9 is out - Jan 09 2012
You can import:
http://www.guillermomolina.com.ar/index.php/es/proyectos/extension-de-firefox-para-kwallet/88-how-to-move-passwords-from-native-store-to-kwallet - Nov 27 2011
Thanks for the advice - Nov 24 2011
Not really. There are two things going on. Several versions ago, they forced to recompile binary plugins for each new major version of firefox. Then they start publishing new major versions every three months. Neither they change their API, nor I change my plugin, but there are other compatibility issues because this plugin is in the middle between KDE and Mozilla. So every 3 months I am forced to start over. - Nov 24 2011
It is not compiling for firefox 8, I am trying to solve it as soon as posible, sorry - Nov 23 2011
Install version 0.12 - Sep 30 2011
Mozzila guys made an automatic check and upgrade, there should be no problem with Firefox 7 and thunderbird 7 - Sep 28 2011
Wierd, I use kubuntu 11.04 64bits, have you tried: http://www.guillermomolina.com.ar/index.php/en/projects/firefox-kwallet-extension/103-library-path-issues ? - Aug 18 2011
This may help:
http://www.guillermomolina.com.ar/index.php/es/proyectos/extension-de-firefox-para-kwallet/103-library-path-issues - Jun 30 2011
Don't worry about those errors, I am aware of them, I am trying to take them out, but they do not make the plugin fail. - Jun 28 2011
I am working on an upgrade for Firefox 5. - Jun 22 2011
Something is broken in lib dependencies of xulrunner 2 in x86_64. Please try now:
$ md5sum kde-wallet_password_integration-0.7.xpi
1e59bddf65d5bf4c1a11b142caebbd27 kde-wallet_password_integration-0.7.xpi

This time execute firefox like this:
$ NSPR_LOG_MODULES=nsNativeModuleLoader:5 firefox-4.0

- Mar 18 2011
I uploaded a new version, try it please:

$ md5sum kde-wallet_password_integration-0.7.xpi
351cb9c216fe06b61bdf432d1e9e7c08 kde-wallet_password_integration-0.7.xpi

The link to download is the same
- Mar 17 2011
Strange problem, because at line 250 of KWallet.cpp there is an empty line.
Do you have 32 or 64 bits?
Please tell me the md5sum of the XPI you have installed:
$ md5sum kde-wallet_password_integration-0.7.xpi
0976fdb7c9f0e29c98d799d8a989628f kde-wallet_password_integration-0.7.xpi
- Mar 17 2011
It may be a library problem, take a look at:
http://www.guillermomolina.com.ar/index.php/es/proyectos/extension-de-firefox-para-kwallet/103-library-path-issues

And let me know if the problem persist
Bye - Mar 14 2011
This version uses 3 different folders to store passwords, because it tries to keep as much compatibility as possible with native apps. Prior to version 0.6, this add-on just uses it's own Folder to store passwords.
The Firefox folder format for version 0.6 is compatible with earlier versions of this add-on. So, you shouldn't need to export/import from older versions.
New passwords are stored either in the "Form Data" or "Passwords" folder depending on the type of password. Passwords from these folders are also read by Dolphin and friends. But both these folders have their limitations. So, when the new password does not fit, it is stored in the Firefox folder.
And last, when Firefox finds a password in the Firefox folder, it tries to move it to the other folders, in order to make them compatible with Dolphin. So, seeing that the Firefox folder decreases it size is a sign that a password have been made compatible (it should be in one of the other folders).
Please check if it is actually bad behavior (like forgetting passwords), because it should be a bug! please, let me know. - Apr 22 2010
Thank you.
I would like to submit it to opensuse, but I couldn't find out how. Can you point me where to look for that info?

People at mozzilla are already studying it for approval.

- Jan 24 2010
Ok, This is a Workaround:
You install this extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/us-US/firefox/addon/2848 or any other password exporter/importer, then you temporary disable my extension. Export your password and disabled sites info, enable my extension and lastly you import your info back again, this will be imported to kwallet.
- Dec 11 2009
Please give me more information on your environment, it is tested with:
OpenSuse 11.2
KDE 4.3.1
Firefox 3.5.5

in 32 and 64 bits - Dec 11 2009
I think it would be possible to migrate user/password info from the native password manager and from konqueror's Form Data to this store, I will take a look at it shortly.
But sharing Form Data with other KDE apps would be a bit more difficult, for example I was not able to store more than one password for the same realm with konqeror, and if you take a look at the Form Data folder of your kwallet, you may guess why.
Another problem is that urls are saved differently in konqueror and firefox, there have to be some kind of conversion.

I've made a minor modification to open sftp connections in dolphin (main.py)
...
def openSubMenu(self, action):
self.selectedServer = action.data().toString()
subMenu = QMenu()
subActionGroup = QActionGroup(self)
QObject.connect(subActionGroup, SIGNAL("triggered(QAction*)"), self.openConnection)

action = QAction("ssh in new tab", self)
action.setData(0)
subMenu.addAction(action)
subActionGroup.addAction(action)

action = QAction("ssh in new window", self)
action.setData(1)
subMenu.addAction(action)
subActionGroup.addAction(action)

action = QAction("sftp", self)
action.setData(2)
subMenu.addAction(action)
subActionGroup.addAction(action)

subMenu.exec_(QCursor.pos())

def openConnection(self, action):
if int(action.data().toString()) == 2:
self.openSFTPConnection(action)
else:
self.openSSHConnection(action)

def openSFTPConnection(self, action):
server = self.servers[self.selectedServer]

url = "sftp://"
if server.login != "":
url += server.login + "@"
url += server.hostIP + ":" + str(server.port) + "/"
subprocess.Popen(str("dolphin " + url), shell=True)

...
Enjoy!

And if you change line 50 of from:
for name, server in self.applet.servers.iteritems():
to:
for name, server in sorted(self.applet.servers.items()):
The editor dialog also sorts the servers

Cheers. - Nov 23 2010
If you change line 72 of main.py from:
for name, server in self.servers.iteritems():
to:
for name, server in sorted(self.servers.items()):

The list will appear sorted.

Cheers. - Nov 23 2010
This plasmoid is very handy, and very useful to me. Nice work!
One thing though, my server list is not listed alphabetically, I can see that main.rc does keep info ordered. Is it just me or is it a bug?

Excellent work again. - Sep 17 2010
