I tried to compile the newest version. However, CMakeLists.txt says:
cp ARGS -f i18n/*.qm ${speedcrunch_TRANSLATION_DIR}
But there are no qm files i that directory in the newest version (0.10.0 still has them!). - Jun 04 2008

Nice app, I like it. It even starts up faster for me than stardict.

Two things missing, though: please make the pop-up window not focus stealing. Whenever I mark some word in a program to replace it with a new word the focus is stolen by the qstardict popup, and the word I was about to enter does not reach the previous active window.
Additionally, please make it possible to "click" the pop up away by just clicking on it :) - Mar 02 2008

You should really try to get this theme upstream - it is easily the best available.
Maybe it could even be used as a new type of html theme engine to create others based on it?

I mean, compared to the other themes available it is simply a new generation (the first real Ajax theme I think). - Jul 09 2007

Whenever I upload a image which has tags annotated by digikam these tags are merged:
If I have the tag "Berlin" of the tag group "Places->Germany", than the tags the photo finally gets in flickr is just on tag called:
The tag is displayed different on the single photo page:

I would prefer to give the photo the tag as a collection of three different tags: Places, Germany, Berlin.
If you don't like it I would also like to see this as an option rather than the default behaviour. - May 09 2007
Well, looks like that was due to a file that had a size of larger than 10 MB - you might want to add a filter about such files. - Apr 25 2007

I think if it is possible to merge the simplicity of klipper with the power of basket there would come out something very cool for KDE 4 :D - Jan 14 2007

Very nice game, I like it!
I have a suggestion:

It would be nice to have a "pause" button: most of the time it doesn't matter for me how fast the game is going, but when the cards are unveiled in the end I would like to have some seconds more. Especially the beginners need some time to see what the others are having.

Also, it would be cool when the computer would show what the player actually has (like: won with flush, etc), and what the others have. - Jan 12 2007

Hm, the installation went fine, why do you ask? What have you expeceted?

However, the archive was already missing some pngs because they are only links to hardcoded directories:
add.png -> /home/daniel/projetos/doka/src/icons/add.png
finished.png -> /home/daniel/projetos/doka/src/icons/finished.png
remove.png -> /home/daniel/projetos/doka/src/icons/remove.png
started.png -> /home/daniel/projetos/doka/src/icons/started.png
stoped.png -> /home/daniel/projetos/doka/src/icons/stoped.png

For the /home/daniel: grep the src files for the expression, there are still some left:
frm_addwb.cpp: lE_DirName->setText( tr2i18n( "/home/daniel/downloads" ) );
frm_addwb.ui: /home/daniel/downloads
main.cpp:// QString url = "/home/daniel/NOtas/";
I wonder, btw., what NOtas is supposed to be?!

For the crash, maybe it is due to the daniel-hardcoded directory? When you've fixed that I will try again :) - Jan 17 2007
Looks nice - and the GUI looks much better than the current kget gui.

However, there are some bugs: the configure dialog always has the default URL /home/daniel/download, so I need to change it every time. But
whenever I try push the "add" button, the program crashes (see below). If I reopen the program the added link is listed there, but it points again to /home/daniel/downloads.

Looks like hardcoded, you should change that to /home/$USER/. If I may give you an advice: create a new, different user on your machine, and test everything there, you will quickly see the problem.

As for people who can help you with the konqueror integration: check with the konqueror guys, they shure can help you. Also, check for the "make kget cool" commits in commit digest, there you will find people who are working at kget and might be able to help you with your alternative download program.

Anyway, here is the crash output:

Packages for Fedora Core are available here: - Sep 14 2006
To answer myself: the patches have already been included in the clucene svn, so the next version will have them. - Sep 14 2006
You could have mentioned the now necessary clucene patches. It does not make it easier to build or package strigi for the masses... :(

Is there at least any chance that there will be a new clucene version, including these patches, soon? - Sep 14 2006
As the output says you are missing the file attr/xattr.h
This is provided by the package libattr-devel on rpm systems. Here in Fedora Core I can fine the file in /usr/include/attr/xattr.h - check if you have it installed, otherwise check where you can get it for your distribution. - Sep 09 2006
You probably missed that all new applications changed this behaviour: Tenor, Phonon, Plasma, Solid, ...

Additionally some very often used applications changed their official names also to a no-K name:
amaroK -> Amarok
oKular -> Okular

So strigi is according to these new "rules" - also I have to admit that the name does not sound very nice in my ears (I'm not a native english, that's probably the reason). - Jul 23 2006
If I run cmake, it cannot find my clucene, which is definitely installed. I'm not so familiar with CMake, do you have any suggestion where I can check what went wrong?

The output is just:
-- Found BZip2: /usr/lib/
-- Found Sha: /usr/lib/
-- Found CLucene library: /usr/lib/
-- Found CLucene include dir: /usr/local
-- Found CLucene library dir: /usr/lib

I noticed that the uninstall rules are missing in case you have to make a "make uninstall". You should add these just in case... :/ - Jul 12 2006
Hm, I'm asking pretty much, eh? Well, should be the last time know for a bit longer. Additionally, this question is not a problem or something but just out of interest:

Is strigi taking advantage of infotify? Does it use it? If not, why not? - Jul 02 2006
It would be nice to exclude files written by beagle or other search engines where also indexing data are saved. That would avoid doubling of data.

Have you tried to do something like that? Is it somehow possible, or already implemented? - Jul 02 2006
Ok, looks like that the strigi configure script searches explicitly for libclucene.a, a static library - do you really need this? Is it really necessary?

The problem with static libraries is that some distributions, like Fedora Core, try to avoid static libraries at all - normally packages providing static libraries are not accepted by the project. Therefor the static libraries are excluded in the packages - which leads to the problem that an official clucene build for Fedora Core, which would be necessary to package strigi for Fedora Core officially, would not provide this static library - and therefore strigi would not work.

Any idea how to solve this problem? - Jul 02 2006
When I try to install strigi I still get a clucene missing error with configure.

checking how to include clucene... "failed"

But: clucene is installed: is installed at /usr/lib/ amd the *.h files are installed at /usr/include/CLucene - but even if I add these with --with-clucene= I still get the configure error.

The installed version of clucene is clucene-core 0.9.15

Any idea what to do? - Jul 02 2006
Ok, thx for the answer. - Jun 29 2006
I would like to try to compile strigi without clucence (you mention three other backends), but how do I do this - configure always says it would like to know where clucene is... - Jun 29 2006
Nice to see that something is happening again in the filed of desktop search and KDE.
Do you have any plans for KDE 4? Are you involved with the Tenor project?

Probably of interest:
there was a blog post by aseigo about some interactions of themes with kicker which also discusses some shortcomings:

Could be interesting maybe... - Sep 11 2006

I saw a small bug today in serenity: when I open a new mail in kmail and start writing the subject the window bar in the taskbar starts flickering while i enter new characters - probably because the window bar label is created by the e-mails subject and therefore has to be updated while I enter new chars in the e-mails subject.

However, this flickering does not occur with other styles.

It does not kill kittens, but it is a bit annoying at least, well, and a small bug. If you need more information, just mention it, I would like to help where I can. - Sep 10 2006
Ok, thanks for the answer!
And since I prefer the +/- stuff (at least how you implemented it) and use also the other options I would say: no, please keep them :)

In fact, there is one reason to keep them: without others would probably try to copy your theme and just change one or two tiny details which you can also provide by options. So keeping the options would save work - and make me happy :D

In any case, thanks for the awesome work,

liquidat - Sep 09 2006
This is awesome, I immediately switched to this new theme.

Some ideas though: First, your screenshots look a bit grey, you could upload some with the original KDE colours.

Second, I would love to see a set of screenshots somewhere which show which option changes what - I am not so familiar with the style options so I have no idea "Triangular Tree Expander" could mean, for example.

Thanks for that work! - Sep 08 2006
