Hi,

SFLPhone-KDE is availalbe here, from an official PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~savoirfairelinux/+archive/ppa - Aug 16 2013
Hi,

SFLPhone is a SIP (or IAX) phone. You need to have an account with a SIP registrar to call "real" phones. Depending on where you live and your "home phone" provider, you may or may not have access to a free SIP account with external phone support. SFLPhone itself wont let you call external phone without a SIP account. - Aug 02 2013
Ok, fixed, the page must have failed to save correctly.

Tell me how you like it! Don't forget to install the daemon first - Aug 10 2012
So, account creation work in gnome then you can use it in KDE? Ok, then, I will investigate and fix that. - Jul 17 2012
Try creating the account in the gnome client. If it work, please report it to me so I can fix the bug - Jul 17 2012
cd daemon
cd lib/pjprojects
./configure #be sure it work
while true;do make -j4;done
ctrl+c after a while when it is done (that library build system is crap, it work only after like 15 "make -j4".
cd ../../
./autogen.sh
./configure
sudo make -j5 install

That should work. To install the deps on Ubuntu, you could have used "apt-get build-dep sflphone-common", it automate the process. - Jul 17 2012
As long as they are in sync. You can't take an old daemon (common) with a newer client, most features will be broken and it will be almost unusable (might even crash).

As long as the version match, it should be fine. - Jul 10 2012
The problem is, the server that generate the .deb description is so old that it only have KDE3, so everytime it try to compile the .deb, it stop when it fail to detect KDE4.

If you need 32bit Ubuntu 12.04 packages, I can generate some by hand. But for anything else, you will have to compile it. It is really not that hard or long. Compiling the daemon is a little tricky, but the KDE client is simple:

sudo apt-get install kdelibs5-dev kdepimlibs5-dev libqt4-dev libqt4-dbus
cd path/to/sflphone/kde
mkdir build
cd build
cmake ../
make -j4
sudo make install

I suggest using the Git version with video disabled (this is the default) - Jul 10 2012
Just to be clear, the source have both a KDE and Gnome directory. I might move the KDE client to a separate repository at some point, but for now they are still sharing the same repository. - Jul 10 2012
It is a real KDE application using KDE4 framework, Akonadi, KCFG, cmake and overall coding guidelines.

SFLPhone have many UI, some for embedded system, one for python (command line), one for GTK, one for Qt (library only) and one for KDE. - Jul 09 2012

Have a KDE WebKit browser (Arora is Qt only), having a KDE application -dedicated- exclusively to web browsing and bring new feature like 1 process per tabs that are not possible with Konqueror.

Firefox is still better, I love many extension and can't live without (almost ;) ). A Qt XUL-ui exist in firefox 4 mercurail branch. I wonder how much effort it would take to make an API compatibility layer to use those extensions in rekonq? - May 21 2009

It "work" on windows too, but it is not stable at all (even on Linux). Nobody really work at full time on the KDE4 version. If it continue like that I will do it until its ready, but I have 3 other apps to work on before. - Sep 25 2009
it is simple, select the note for depper item, clik on the paperclip and so the same after selecting [-] notes and it will do what you want - Dec 29 2007
You are skipping from 0.6.1 beta2 to 1.0beta3?

What about feature in the roadmap?
http://basket.kde.org/roadmap.php
You will add then in the kde4 version?

An 1.0 apps is supose to be stable and optimised, basket is not ready for 1.0 (my opinion) it crash almost evry hours if you use it too much, and inserting image fail 4/5 of time (in 0.6) - Jan 14 2007

Glad to see this application alive again!

But just to prevent it from the fate of ManDVD, ManEncode and ManSlide, I have to make few comment about this first version:
-first, please make an SVN repository for this application, just providing a source package prevent other developper to help you with this application. It is a basic rules of open source

-an other basic rules of open source is to provide is to use english in comment, I am french too and mostly understant your code (after takign few minute to look at it) and it is better than the first manDVD, but comment and foldername are in french once again, this really prevent open source community to get into the developpement of your application.

-few code details, like classes name rule (the first letter is normally in upper case and the variables name in lower case), using variables name like MyNewRaviables instead of my_new_variables is also widelly used in Qt/KDE apps, but this is less important if all variables use the same naming rules. Followinf the common programming rules help a lot to get into the developpement of an application.

-providing an english page explaining what the application do, where to download it and how to install it is also important.

-providing a copy of the GPL and including it in every header file is also important, but this is really a legal thing, you are not covered with the GPL right now. Your work in under no licence at all until you include the COPYING/LICENCE file and edit the header. Most distribution will refuse to include this application in there repository if this issue is not fixed.
EDIT: Some file have correct header apparently! But not all, and the copy of the licence is still missing.

-you use some space in your folder name, some command line user will hate you from that ;). My advice would be to use the standard naming (src/, lib/ src/inferface, pixmap/) and having only the main.cpp in the root of your source folder, the other file would be configure, COPYING, LICENCE, INSTALL, BUGS, AUTHORS and ABOUT.

-having a real bugtracker (bugzilla or launchpad) is also important

-adding a CMakeList.txt or configure file calling qmake would be good too, directly using qmake in not a common thing and many people don't even know that this exist. Having to search the web to find the dependancy of an application and how to install it is frustrating for most user.

-having a working "make install" is also important, because copying file using cp id the main factor if you want to break a linux distribution.

-code like this
if ( event->delta() > 0 )
{
if ( luma < 255 )
{
luma = luma + 5;
}
}

can be converted to :
if (( event->delta() > 0) && ( luma < 255 ))
luma += 5;

this make the code less heavy and make it easier to read

-some of the string inside of the code are in french and translated in english using tr(), you should really try to avoid using non-english stuff in your code. If the meaning of the string is wrong, it is not a big problem, someone will notice and report a bug, but devs having to use google tranlate to understand the code is much worst.

___

Those are just details, but complying with the standard of open source will help you a lot, save you some work and create a more solid community aroud your application. I did read manDVD(2.4) code, and this one is looking a lot better and the application seem to be as great as the previous one (I did not made a DVd yet, but I took a look at the GUI).

Hope this one will live longer that the first one! One last thing, I don't know how this happened, but some of your previous work had some overrating/downloading problem here on KDEapps, I don't know how, but if you can try to do something about it, like asking people not to vote 100000 time per day or something like that, I don't know. All your applications are great, they don't need fake vote or abusive useless download to stay in top 10. I think you should make a launchpad or sourceforce account and try to promote this application outside of kdeapps, this will surelly prevent what happened to ManSlide/Encode/DVD where when they were deleted of kdeapps, they just died.

Don't take anything I said as a rant or trolling, I really want to see this application becoming a killer apps, I just think that those issue need to be fixed before this can become a reality. - Feb 15 2009

No, I did try (and retried again). But an rm ./[a-zA-Z]* /home/kde-devel/kde/build/coudcity -rf on the source folder to let svn restore did it. It look like the cmakekde kde script edited a few things and moved the build directory even if I do "cd build" in the source folder. The /home/kde-devel/kde/build/coudcity was build probably with Qt4.3/cmake2.4/automoc4-3.9 1 years ago when I first reinstalled your theme (after it was dropped by the oxygen team).

To prevent this, you can use a cmake2.6 script to check that. The version of qt is written in the header of moc_* file. - Feb 14 2009

You are right about the fact that I use Qt4.5 (qt-copy), but I also have a Qt-copy of 4.4 and the log is exactly the same (I can produce a log with 4.4 if you want it) - Feb 13 2009

I use daily KDEsvn build using cmakekde script from kde wiki. Before that I add QTreeWidgetItem not found, but I fixed those locally

I also tried the ./configure help && cd build && make method but with the same result. It look like you are reimplementing the class without including it in the first place, other people seem to manage to compile this theme so it is my fault one way or an other. How can I fix that? - Feb 12 2009

anderslund, it is not a KDE apps. KDE apps use -qt-, kdelibs and follow KDE standard. You wrote a gnome apps using GTK so it have nothing to do here, that's the rules. Port it to KDElibs and then update it or let KDE user bury it until it goes bellow 30%.

Application that can run inside KDE are not automatically kde apps, they can be. Photoshop is not a kde apps even if I open it in KDE. Kde apps follow some guideline, somehting that gnome user don't seem to do. Every kde apps look and feel the same, configuration is similar from application to application, settings are managed the same way, toolbar show similar things in similar order, keyboard shortcut are the same and many other things. It is an other reason why only kde apps are kde apps. - Sep 21 2008

That would be perfect! - Mar 12 2007
I use the old one (3.5.5). Gentoo team seem to have hardmasked 3.5.6 for a bug (probably this one). But i just recompiled kdebase and now the animation speed is perfect, not too slow and not too fast. Folders dont "wait" until the animation is over and i can see the animation.

Thanks! (and if you didnt made any changes in kdebase, i dont know how my problem got solve)

You should offer older version of the patch as "fast" "medium" and "slow" and possibly an "extremely fast" for older machine instead of trying to tweak the amount of frame to reach a "perfect standard". Thats my opinion. - Mar 08 2007
Ido, i dont know why (i dont know if its related to your patch) but kdelibs fail to compile. With the last version, everything was perfect, almost any warning, but now i get an error. Here is the last part of the compiling (sorry to the size)

Like i said, it is just too fast, i can only see it when i use portage or things like that. Yes i use berl, but i tried without. If the creator of this patch can add a setting for the nuber of frame or the time, it can be interresting.

Like he said, it is too slow on slow CPU, me, it is the oposite, i got a too much optimised kde... - Feb 27 2007
Hi, this is a very nice patch, but on my gentoo, i can only see 1 frame of the animation. The only way i found to see the animation is to start kfind and search for every file with the letter e inside (eat 100% of cpu). Aparently the animation is so fast that my open source intel driver (i865) dont have the time to render 2 frame...

Is it possible to edit the patch to render the zoom during a specific (customisable) amount of time instead of taking 100% of the cpu during the less time possible? - Feb 15 2007

IT should be really nice if we can have an interface like adiumX
http://adiumx.com/images/screenshots/statusmenu.jpg

The ability to use fake transparency like in yakuke and hide border by default (not using the left menu).

Talking of yakuake, some week ago, someone posted a patch to remplace the fake transparency of konsole with real transparency, is it possible to port it to yakuake? - Dec 10 2006
