Hi

In this kind of game by default I can think about 2 modes: host a game (human, bots, whatever..) and join a game.

But let's think about a third one. Imagine a situation where you are at home and you want to play with your friends a game (with real tiles, in a table.. you know). Scoring might not be much simple, and here is where the scoring mode comes in.

Common steps:
- You start the game (in the computer you must set player layout and names).
- Once each hand is finished you indicate all the important info, including at least:
* Draw hand or there is a winner.
* Win by tsumo, or ron (who pays).
* Tile set for the winning hand (including open melds).
* How many riichis have been declared.
* Set of doras.
- The game computes this data, and indicates how many points must be paid by anyone, renchan and so on, and updates the scoring and the status of the game.

Of course in classic mahjong there are other inputs at the end of each hand, nevermind.

In the end you have a tool to simplify the scoring in a true game, which imho doesn't seem to be very difficult to provide, but may be veeery helpful.

What do you think?

I'm a C/Java programmer, and my C++ knowledge is close to 0 :)

Anyway I can help by reorganizing and translating to english my rules document, somehow marking which are the most important differences between chinese mahjong and riichi mahjong. I think that might help you (the one who better knows kajonggg's main internals) to figure out which way should be followed if you want to add riichi support.

Is that right for you? I'll start ASAP, and we'll see how it ends.

What about japanese riichi mahjong? Any chance to also allow this game type? It requires some changes, including death wall, no flowers or seasons, and a different scoring method. Besides it requires some checks to see if your hand is legal or not (furiten, even temporary furiten), because you may be punished if you did close it the wrong way.

A good site to check it is this:
http://tenhou.net/0/

You have a simple guide for joining tenhou.net here:
http://arcturus.su/tenhou/

In tenhou.net for example you can not close being on furiten. It shows down a notify, and winning for you is not allowed, but removing this check may be interesting, so you can win and then you will have to pay a penalty. This is an expected scenario in riichi mahjong.

I have merged into one document all the rulesets I've found, but rules seem to change between different areas, so it might be somehow wrong. Anyway that's a start (it's in spanish right now, but can be translated into english if necessary).

Regards and thx for your effort

hi

i've compiled amarokFS (0.5), and it's running, but i can only use the CoverFlow theme

if i run any other theme (isimplydark, ipodblack,..) it allways crashes a few seconds after launching

here you can see a stack trace of the error:

Hi

what about keeping the aspect ratio when "creating" the thumbnail for being showed with the theme?

the fact is that i have several large covers, and they look very strange if the aspect ratio isn't keeped

Some changes:
- All I've written about "playlist" was really about the "playlist editor" (I hadn't noticed it, sorry..)

- For hidding the playlist editor you could do it automatically (as I've said before) or even better, having a hide button (a down arrow icon) (when you hide It you only can see a bar over the status bar representing the packaged editor and your hide button has been changed for a "show button", which shows an up arrow icon). So you should have the hide button instead of the close button (if you want to close It you always can use the keyboard shortcut or use the playlist menu)

- When playing mplayer in standalone mode if you press the "o" key you cycle between the modes of showing the file time (show the status bar when moving forward/backward, show current time and %, show current/full time, and don't show anything). At kplayer this option is disabled, and you only can set how it works "statically", going to the preferences menu.. why don't let it work as it is? if you press the "o" key you should cycle the show time mode

Soz for so much posts..

Regards :)

More and more:
- I should add an extra column to the playlist representing the file index (It only show its position and It's not editable.. I would be easier to find a song by remembering Its index, whithout having to search It manually by Its name or whatever you want)

- At "Preferences/Show status bar" I think there's a bug, because It should be "checked" when you enable It and doesn't seem to work in this way..

- The playlist editor should be automatically hideable (or not.. It should be configurable). If you want you can show it up, and before playing a file you could drop it down to get a bigger image without having to switch to fullscreen mode

- At status bar I should add an icon showing the current playing status (I'm talking about common play/pause icons)

Ooops, a couple more:

- The currently played song at the playlist should be selected in a different way. Maybe using a different selection background color or by showing Its row bigger than the rest (this is the way it works at Amarok)

- So you could add a button for scrolling the playlist to the current playing file or do it automatically (I think the first option is better, even more if you are managing your playlist when there's a file change)

Hi

I'm trying this app for the first time, and I think it's very interesting. Adding such a set of extra features to MPlayer is a great idea, but I think there are a few more very desirable (imho):

- Toolbars should be configurable, as "all" kde apps (add/remove buttons, change their icons,..)

- Sorting the playlist using any of the columns included should be possible

- Adding/removing columns at the playlist is also required

- Adding all media files from a selected directory to the playlist should be recursive (or not.. you decide at insert time)

- File information at playlist should be easy to see.. sometimes you can get confused with it (for example: "AAxBB VIDEO: xvid AUDIO: mp3")

- Related to this an extra column to show advanced information about the file could be added if it's possible to get this information from mplayer (bitrate, fps,..)

- The playlist should work in "double-click mode". Currently It's annoying to get a file played when you only want to set Its position (maybe move it up or down)

- If possible I would add also extra columns at playlist for setting the "category" of an entry (music video, anime video,.. of course the set of categories should be configurable) and even adding the user rate to each one (so you can decide which are your best files, and you can sort the playlist using this column if you want to have together your best videos)

Well, I hope you like it

Congrats for this great app :D

well, i've been searching for this and i've found something:
it seems that dvd_udf.h is not copied to the destination directory when installing libdvdread, so i've downloaded it (i use rpm's with my suse, but i've copied this file from the .tar.gz)

after this i've changed the references to "dvd_udf.h" at kdvdbackup.cpp and kifo.cpp, but i continue receiving this error message:
/home/mamonetti/descargas/k9copy-1.0.0/src/kdvdbackup.cpp:361: undefined reference to `UDFFindFile'
kifo.o(.text+0x170f): In function `kIFO::saveIFO()':

well.. probably lots of people use another navigator, with different syntax at launching so.. can't i use opera for this?

NOTE: maybe a config file could help at this point. opera remote invocation looks like opera -remote openURL(URL,new-tab) but the complete list is here http://www.opera.com/docs/switches. of course an easy way to do it could be something like this at the config file:
OPEN_COMMAND=opera -rem.... %URL,... (so you only have to change the value of %URL when launching a request)

and another question: which charset is used by default? i'm a spanish user and things like más (or similar) don't look great.. could the charset be selectable? (at the same way exposed for the first question i think)

regards

probably you will see this post similar to the first here http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=27639
obviously both themes seem to be similar and both them have the same problem..
