the kstyle is ThinKermaik and the kwin is Active Heart... - Nov 09 2004
Well, for starters CrystalSVG isn't a true SVG icons set, it is a PNG set that was made from SVG icons.

Krystaline is both, it seems to have just has many svg icons as png icons in the set and I think by default KDE uses png before svg, so it would make sense that yr system would'nt crash using that...

As for why you are having problems? I really could'nt tell you that, maybe you could file a bug report w/ the ksvg team? I was once told by one of the ksvg developers, that the reason ksvg is so flaky, is because people don't file bug reports...

Personally I would rather KDE ditch Ksvg alltogether and start using Librsvg in it's place. It renders icons allot better...

Or atleast give the option to use it during compile time..? - Nov 02 2004
I already have a script that converts the icons, I actually found it on kde-look.

http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=10055

SVG2ICONS Script
http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=6913

I use the SVG2PNG4KDE one... - Oct 30 2004
KDE 3.1.x will not render these icons correctly, nor will 3.2.x in some cases.

At the moment I am looking for someone to host the png version(s)... - Oct 30 2004

On my NetBSD install I don't use GNOME, only Xfce w/ GTK 2.6.x. My System is an AMD 2000+ [i686/1.67GHz] [PC]. Unfortunately, when it crashes it doesn't give me any real error? I tried running some of the xfce modules through a terminal to see if any errors would pop up as things crashed, but nothing of any use printed.

On CRUX (Linux 2.6.10-ck2 [i686/1.67GHz] GTK 2.4.14) everything seems to run fine? Go figure? - Feb 04 2005
man, it crashed the hell out of Xfce on NetBSD 2.0. At the moment I'm not sure exactly why, but if I figure it out i'll make a post. "I'll install it on CRUX later tonight and see what happens" - Feb 04 2005

For starters, I love how the Metacity Gradient is not so deep, but still nice and roundish.

The close/max/min buttons are much better looking (Active & Inactive), then the ones found in Glider & Industrial. It looks like allot more attention to detail was given to them.

As for what others have been saying, i am sorry I just can not see how anyone could see this Metacity as a rip off? If anything, a huge improvement on the original industrial style.

Please if you don't have anything positive or constructive to say, then don't say anything at all...

One more thing, back in the days of kde 3.1 someone released a kwin theme called KIndustrial. Unfortunately it was never updated to work w/ KDE 3.2 & up. I would love to see someone update & finish this theme...

http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=8557 - Nov 01 2004
By the way, the screenshot you listed above is not Industrial, it's SmoothGnome/Glider. Glider uses the Smooth Engine & Industrial uses the "Industrial" engine...

They are completely two different themes built on two different engines...

Just though you would like to know :) - Nov 01 2004
