I'm going to use this for the Tropic theme I'm preparing for inclusion with Edgy Eft (abelt, with a different wallpaper of course!)...looks like a very nice design!
Very Nice looking theme, but (not to pick nits) why don't you clone the bkg colors over the user name you blotted out with the black color?

Very nice-much better than the default Ubuntu GDM theme. You should submit this to the Ubuntu Art Team.
The original was a great design, but I much perfer the Ubuntu logo to tux. Thank you for this.
