In my eyes this Theme looks very much like Plastik Windeco (only a bit more shiny).

Yes, as superstoned says it's based on plastik and it's GPL so everybody's invited to improve it. ;-)

Report

exactly, as it is based on it. feel free to improve it further, tough :D
(imho the buttons can use some work)

What's with the buttons?

they're so flat... the window has a crystal/rounded look, but the buttons look like they are taped on it, they don't blend in, imho.

a change in shape might help (more rounded, trapezoid?) and maybe other color effects.

but hey, I like this windec better than Linspire's windec - altough I like Linspire's style (needs some cleaning up, but its nice).

I'm quite confident with the buttons.
I have not seen really good buttons yet.

Maybe a very light 3D effect like plastic style would not be bad. But I'm not an artist so implementing this is not an easy task for me.

hi, I wonder if the thin background-colored line around my windows is on purpose... imho it sucks. anything I or you can do?

Report

Superstoned

ok, there is a color setting. hard to find, tough :D

anyway, you can ignore me... :D

oh, no!
when maximized, the text is placed too low in the windowdecoration - eg it almost get cut of by the top of the window itself.

Just came to think about it... What font are you using for the window title?

Report

It's Bitstream Vera Sans (12pt, bold)

I am running this exact same setup on SuSE 9.3- same font and everything. To me, it looks a lot like Plastik with a glossier finish and the SuSE chameleon to the right of the title.

I've made a .deb file packaged for ubuntu/kubuntu Hoary. (peppelorum's version didn't work on Hoary because of silly dependency problems (worked if I used four --ignore-depends=...)).
Of course it has the ubuntu logo instead of the debian one. (It was included in the source package, so no credits to me...)
I've just mailed it to geflei, because I don't have any good space to put it myself...

Just wanted to say that I updated the package for Sid.

If you get a chance it would be nice to include a packaged binary for RPM based distributions.

As I only have SUSE as rpm based distro there's no sense.
But there is a spec file in the sources so it should be quite easy to make one for other distros. And to send it to me or post the link. :-)

Actually I'm using SuSE Linux Pro 9.2 which even after updating to KDE 3.4 excludes the new SuSE theme. If possible post this packaged RPM so users of older versions of SuSE Linux can also enjoy the new theme.

Thanks :)

Ok, here you go. For plain SUSE 9.2.

This is a really nice win deco! Thank you very much for making it available here! What color scheme are you using? With plastik, this win deco looks really bad. Can you post the one from SUSE here?

The style isn't SuSE's! It's called lipstik, you can find it at kde-look (where else? ;)): http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=18223

Should already be in the sources and get installed (SuSE.kcsrc).
