Hi AdrienV, i was atracted for the simplicity of your acpi monitor so I downloaded. it didn't work, but making some change to the code (the beauty of GPL) its started works.

I'm planing to do some develop on it whith the goal to "keep it simple". I would be glad to hear you opinion about it. you can found it in:

http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=69681

The first version (0.1) it is only your original work whith some arrenge.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have an APC USB and am using apcupsd deamno.
I installed your nice theme but am not able to:
1) change themes
2) customize it providing the correct path.

Could you please provide detailed info on how to set this up?

I currently use gentoo amd64 with kde 3.4.2

Thank you,
Spiro

I can´t seem to figure this theme out...

I fire it up in superkaramba 0.35 (gentoo) and all I get is a light-blue box, a brown battery with the plugged in symbol, and a white bar...

ACPI is enabled (klaptop works...)

Any idea what´s wrong?

Sorry but I haven't been updating it for a long time... So it's still for superkaramba 0.34...

You should use my new Aero-G ACPI theme wich is made for superkaramba 0.35.

But if you really want to use this version, I will update it...

I got exactly the same problem... also with gentoo...

it seems that the output of '/usr/bin/acpi -t' does not contain information about the battery status.

on my box (dell inspiron 8500 notebook) it only contains informations about thermal zone1.

@AdrienV:
wouldn't it be better to collect the informations about battery-, ac-status from the '/proc/acpi' folder?

i'm actually not experienced with python, but since i'm studying informatics, i'm trying to change that...

if you're interested please contact me, or i can send you a copy of my version when i get it to work

You can take Aero-G ACPI's code that have been updated...
On my computer it does that:
$ acpi -t
Battery 1: charged, 100%
Thermal 1: ok, 96.0 degrees C

hm, I looked around and found out that there seems to be a problem with the implementation of the 'acpi' util...

on my laptop it doesn't show all plugged in batteries when using 'acpi -t'. I only get the second battery, or the first if it gets charged...

at the moment I'm rewriting the code, so that it detects if there are 1 or 2 batteries. it will also fix the problem mentioned above...

but please don't ask, I don't know when its ready... don't have much time right now...

I will mail you the code when I'm ready, ok?

Yes as you expected I use ksmoothdock as bottom bar. My karamba themes are xmms-fullbar from "light 'n crisp" (with a home made background: white at alpha=20%), tuxmon with my background and some modifications, liquid weather plus with "plain white - flat 2" background and my WiFi and ACPI monitors. The desktop background is a picture (taken by a friend) from 3 Cap10 planes on the Carcassonne-Salvaza airport (France).
