Description:

My Second Karamba Theme.

This will check your E-mail account and display how many messages you have on the server.

You can also launch the Thundebird client from the theme.

You will need to edit the "thunderbird.theme" file and add the path to your Thunderbird client, you will also need to add your e-mail server, username and password so that it can access your e-mail box.

I added a few color themes with this new version.

Red, Blue, Green, Balck and Trans.
you will need to load up thenderbird2.theme to use the new colors.

Do you plan to add translation support (with .po files) to this theme? I'm ready to do it for Turkish :)

I can't edit since it said access declined . I believe I need to be in root to edit it?

How can I access to root? I placed this folder in /usr/etc/karamba...

I success to edit it by save as... But I keep wondering if it success... since I can't receive the emails...

My example, for what I did:
## Change the path and the settings below to reflect your path and server information
text x=160 y=25 sensor=program program="~/Karamba/Thunderbird/scripts/pop3_mail.pl mail.server dzeplin@rochester.rr.com xxx" line=1 align=right fontsize=10 interval=30000


xxx is "my password" so did I do right setting?

Id doesen't seem to work with Gmail. Perhaps the problems is the "@" sign in the login name? And even when I try to replace it with the "\@" as suggested in pop3 python script it still doesent work. I get the error: Server unreachable.

Gmail's pop requires SSL on port 995 and the full email as login. Is it possible to configure this somewhere in the theme ?

Can you post an example of the pop3_mail.pl configuration ? Since i dont know what to edit.

Right Click on the theme, select Edit them click Edit Theme.

find this line

text x=160 y=25 sensor=program program="~Karamba/Thunderbird/scripts/pop3_mail.pl mail.server username password" line=1 align=right fontsize=10 interval=30000


Edit the path and point it to where you installed the theme then change the mail.server username and password to reflect your settings.

hello, ive edited the required files in order to get the theme to show the e-mail server, but it doesnt it just says mail server, i have changed the lines, and checked them but it isnt working for some reason.
any pointers will be helpful, great themey /widgety thing, very handy, its one of the things about linux that i love, all the little add ons, like karamba, screenlets etc etc

Hi I ilke, sort of, but the theme tells :"mailserver not reachable"
