Description: "Gnome Splash" executable files for correct work of "Splash Screen" in Ubuntu 10.04 32 & 64-bit.
This exec files are exclusive for the Splash Screen of Gnome, solving the problem of the "Splash Screen" configuration in Ubuntu 10.04
Just follow the instructions on the INSTALL file.
There's still the bug that, after showing the splash, it doesn't dissapear automatically. To quit it, just click on the splash image, then it will dissapear...
No luck installing this.
the install manual gives me directions, but is not precise enough
I have installed this:
GNOME Splashscreen Manager
StartUp-Manager
Ubuntu-Splash-Image
and I can't find any reference to "Pantalla de bienvenida de GNOME"
Please give me a heads up ;)
"Pantalla de bienvenida de GNOME" is knowed as "Gnome welcome screen" or similar in english... just rename it.
Make sure that the Splash screen options of Gnome are selected either in GNOME Splashscreen Manager and GConf's respective entries (use gconf-editor for this)...
Make sure you're in the root account if something fails when you're copying the files and modifying the options in Gconf-editor...
Make sure the files has read-write-exec rights/properties for all users, groups and you...
Make sure the paths are exactly the paths given in the INSTALL file, NOT others...
Also, check the rights/properties of the symbolic links created in accordance to the INSTALL file...
Also, check that the files noted in the INSTALL file (Gnome-splash-screen and/or gnome-welcome-screen) are in the Startup Applications program of Ubuntu (Not in Startup manager, that's other stuff)..
