But I don't really dislike its look. It's all about the looks on this site, so please consider only that. It's plain impossible that OSX-lookalikes harvest up to around 85% and XPish stuff always gets less than 40% when only the look counts!

A co-worker calls it the Fisher Price Desktop and I think that title fits all too well. Having used both XP and OSX for a short time, there is no comparison -- OSX has style and just plain geekiness that XP covers up with it's bright colors and thick plastic exterior.
Granted, thankfully, changing the XP desktop is relatively easy thanks to StarDock and others.
All that said, I use KDE with styles and windecs that are mostly non-XP and non-OSX for a reason. (Granted, my new fave Plastik windec is kinda close to XP, just without the bright buttons) KDE, and all other *nix UIs, should strive to create and find their own style. I always vote up originality even if it's not something I would personally use. I try never to vote down, unless it's a blatant rip-off or wrongfully licensed work.
