Easy to install? I have no clue as to how to install this. Maybe I'm reading the docs wrong, but it would be nice if they were a little more specific.....

Nevermind, the 3 others are so good.
Content of one folder must be copied into the 'ksplash' directory.
Under SuSE it is '/opt/kde3/share/apps/ksplash/pics-default'.
I don't know where it is under your system, because I am only using SuSE.
Check it out, perhaps it is the same directory.
However, there's a minor error as the third or forth icon partially splashes to early. (try with ksplash --test)
Also, i can send you some pictures of a big cat paw - if you want.

I followed your instructions and nothing happened. I still have the default kde 3.1 splash screen. I'm using Mandrake 9.1 any ideas? Gary

In Mandrake the ksplash directory is here: /usr/share/apps/ksplash/pics The web site needs more helpful directions: E.G. "find the Ksplash directory"
