Hi,

I created qnix-0.2.1 RPMs for
SuSE Linux 7.3-i386 (they should
work on SuSE Linux 7.2 as well):

ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/people/grimmer/RPMs/i386/7.3/qnix-0.2.1-0.i386.rpm

ABSOLUTELY , TEE-TOTALLY IMPRESSIVE!!! Wow, I just installed 0.2.1 and I'm blown away. Min/Max animation works, menu "stickiness across desktops" fixed, and and dramatically improved, awesome looking Kicker style! I like how the grips on the various Kicker applets match the grips on the toolbars - very nice touch, adds consistency. The taskbar applet looks much better, especially he buttons (fixed in 0.2.0, I think). Two things I would work on before releasing: 1) the bottom- and right side- bevel on the taskbar applet - they don't appear sunken; 2) a "question-mark button" in the window frame decoration. Maybe QNX doesn't have one, but KDE does, it's used, and all good themes should include it. Superb job! Well, it's off to take some screen snapshots and make my buddies jealous, he he he.... :o) Cheers, Ty

I've made a few changes, and have a release (yes another one) ready. It fixes large menu crashes, the min/restore animation issue, and also changes the appearance of Kicker (as requested many times). But I'm not sure whether I've got the panel appearance right. So before I upload it here, if anyone would like to try it out first, I'd be very interested in comments. The source is at www.del.f2s.com/files/qnix-0.2.1.tar.gz

Thanks for all your comments. To answer everyone's questions, the 2nd screenshot shows the MusicView plugin and the 3rd screenshot shows a project called Doclib, which I've been working on for a while. It 's basically a documentation browser which allows me to access all my APIs, manuals, HOWTOs etc. from one place. I just made it for my own use, didn't really think anyone would be interested. But if there is interest, then I'll consider releasing it. Might take some time to put it into a distributable form though.

I did some mild digging on Del's site and it appears to be a yet-to-be released plugin for Konq that he/she is working on called MusicView that list mp3's by id3 information.

Yeah, I gotta agree...the "stamped in" look really doesn't mesh too well, especially if, like me, you have it in "small" size. I would suggest leaving it in the "KDE default" - always a safe way to go - style or style it like the toolbars. Looking at the screenshots on qnx.com, I can see why you're trying for the stamped in look. However, the panel isn't bug enough to provide the "bump" in between the contents of the kicker and the desktop, unless you hae a wallpaer with a beveled bottom edge. But in that case your limited by your backgorund. So I would say just leave the panel with the default style. BTW this theme is VERY nice.

The best theme I have ever seen for KDE. OK, so it's a clone of another OS, but it's superbly done, and I love it. Well done, and I look forward to any further developments!

This theme is very good. Just one slight suggestion though. Can you change it so that the panel doesn't have that "stamped-in" look? That way it will really look like QNX.

I'd love to know what program is
in the third screenshot.
Where do we get it? I've looked
at sourceforge, freshmeat, apps.kde.com.

I can't find it!
What is it?
I'm dying here!

0.1 was really nice, 0.2 is simply perfect !!
I really love the general look'n'feel of this theme, good job guy !
I'd love to see your work uploaded in the official CVS, do you intend to ask s.o. for it ?

I really love this theme. It's clean yet still attractive. I'm happy fixed the problems with Konqueror. Now I can use it again! :D There is a problem with windows animating when minimizing while using the Qnix decoration. Other than that, great job!

Is there any way to get the icons shown in the screens? I know from the home page that they won't be distributed with the theme, but where can I get them?
