Description:

Simple Kopete history parser.

Added TXT and HTML export to version 0.3.
For instal run 'qmake && make' and as root './install.sh'.

Hum... Ok, your version is faster than the History plugin included in Kopete by default, but why making another project?

Did you tryed to contact Kopete developers so you can become a maintainer of the "official" history plugin, and enhance it?
Or do they refused to have extra features like export to HTML/Text?

It's not a critic, after all we're free software, you develop for fun, nobody has to tell you on what project you should work... But I think helping people using good software by default is a nicer way than hoping a few people download an extension... I'm sure you also want to make the biggest number of people happy with what you develop.

Anyway, I vote for the project. A nice improvement over the History plugin.

Thanks for your great work. I found your application when I was searching if there is any applications that could convert my old Gaim logs to Kopete one.

I am wondering if you would consider adding similar ability to the application in the future. I'm sure this would fascinate ppl from converting to Kopete from other IM if they wanna to :)

I am having problems incorporating kopetelog into kopete. i ran the install stuff... but its not logging or even listed in kopete.

KopeteLog is an application which parse history logged with kopete history plugin. So you need kopete history plugin installed. :)

when I export my history to html special characters aren't working, no problems with txt

For the (K)Ubuntu users out there, remember to use qmake-qt4 instead of just qmake. Qt4 is installed alongside Qt3 in Ubutu, so the -qt4 is needed to distinguish between the two. qmake-qt3 is run by default.

Yes, just enable the "History" plugin.

So what is the difference between KopeteLog and the "History" plugin?

I know History plugin in Kopete but I think it is very slow in history parsing... in my opinion KopeteLog is much speedy. And I am programming some new functions such as export history to html or txt. ;)

You should talk to Kopete team as they want to make history browser a separate application in KDE 4.
