MediaDownloader is an opensource software that let you search, watch, download and covert items (also extract audio) with Google Image and YouTube. It can also grab videos while browsing with Firefox.
Check homepage for all features

Firefox monitor will work only on linux

Building
To compile in linux the above packages must be installed:
libx11-dev, libxtst-dev, qt4-qmake, libqt4-dev, libqt4-opengl-dev, libphonon-dev, libqt4-webkit, libqtwebkit-dev
Recomended packages are:
phonon-backend-gstreamer, gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg, ffmpeg, libmp3lame0

removed online check for update
fixed non working video change format while viewing video

Hi,
My google search isn't doing anything. The search box goes grey for a second and comes back instantly with 0 results.

1. Mediadownloader displays not more than 63 images in "ajax api" mode.

2. Context menu "browse" doesn't open a site in "public" mode but an image. In "ajax api" mode it opens a site.

"ajax mode" is limited by Google to 63 images.
I fixed the browse link. Updated to verion 1.5.1-3

Right, I commented too soon hehe
The google option downloads only thumbnails even if I set the image size to large. Thats why its fast...

Hi,
I have used this software for a long time. Suddenly a few days ago it stopped working, image search shows images searched and parsed but doesnt display anything. The download window shows up but everything stays at 0%.
I am on Kubuntu Maverick with latest updates from backports but no launchpad.
Can you help ?

meanwhile you can use "Ajax api" in "search method" box in the "google image" tab

Ok that works, it gives me less images than public mode. Could download 63 when I searched for 200, but its something. Thanks for heads up.

There is no mediadownloader.desktop file in the tarball, i used the file of the previous version

In first time the "Starting from" field is "0" which is means 0 results. May be a new user cannot understand why he has nt resaults, will be better to turn it "1" by default

hi dglent,

thanks for the package.
The "Starting from" field is meant.... better to do an example:
I want 100 results and put 100 in the "number of results" field. When I am done with downloding, removing or such, I want to load other 100 results, so in "Starting from" I must put 100 so it will displayed results from 100 to 200.
0 means to start from the beginning of results from Google.... here.... I got you ... from the first image Google gives :)
