Description:

This Amarok-script allows to open audio files in one or several sound editor session(s) from a play list.
It allows now too to concatenate or merge several files for edition.

The default editor is mhwaveedit but can be changed by editing the script under amarok.

This is the first version of this script, so don't hesitate if you have any problem with it : just write a comment here to let me know.

This script depends on :
KDE 3.5
Kdialog
mhwaveedit (but you can change this)
regina-rexx (must be installed and is included in most distros packages list : openSuse, Ubuntu).

why are you writing this for old KDE and old amarok?
Even though some may say (KDE/Amarok) is not as good as old version, still in time to come it is natural to expect more and more people to use new generation of KDE and Amarok.

Because I do use KDE 3.5 and not KDE 4 at all.
I don't use Amarok 2.0 because it seems to me that it is still a Beta and I've got no time to waste testing beta applications (I've enough with mine :) ).
If you have time to adapt this script and test it on this Beta, then do it, I'll be glad to help you.

Before you ask, I use also this old fashion language REXX-REGINA. So if you want to know why... well it's the same answer...
because I use it !
If you dislike or don't have the matching environment, just don't use this script... you're free, you know.
I'm asking myself a question : why do you ask ?

Amarok is not in Beta although it sometimes act as if it were in alpha :)
two versions are available 2.0 stable and 2.1 beta, development.

Why do i ask?
First i know i am free :)

But following the path of logic it does not seem a good idea to develop for environment that is outdated more and more each day, and for peace of software that its developers have stopped supporting(working on it).

It would seem that you are putting effort in dead projects(unless amarok and kde3.5 fork ;) )

That would be like writing addon for messenger application for Windows 98..

ok probably not that bad but i hope you get the idea Why do i ask.

I love Windows 98, it's the best system ever... (I think you won't ask anything more after that... hem... yes ?) :)

So, a bit more seriously (but not too much anyway), there will be an amarok 2.0 version of this script when :
- I use amarok 2.0 (probably when it will be a "dead" working project ;))
- someone else (you ?) will feel inspired to adapt it himself for is own purpose.

Hope this answer will seem more satisfactory to you.
