Description:

Suru++

A third-party Suru icons for Ubuntu 18.04
An elegant, modern and sweet Suru icons based on Suru Icons by Sam Hewitt

  • I and Gustavo Costa (gusreis1989/gusbemacbe) have made a big update — bigger addition of icons, purged the PNG images and rewrote the icons in pure SVG for fixing the icons bug in KDE. And we have created new 4 repositories!
  • We have expanded to 1244 icons!
  • Based on Gustavo's Flastemite 2 and on his ideas, we also added new egg easters! We won't tell which icons and let you discover and guess! ;-)

Here are new repositories! Click them to visit

They are already on github. I'm not that good either at these things.. I believe you can just fork them, I suppose. Here are the links:
https://github.com/paullinuxthemer/Telinkrin-icon-theme
https://github.com/paullinuxthemer/Arrongin-icon-theme

That is, if Andrea is willing...

After forking them, will you remove your repositories? Because if not, the users will get confused with the same repositories, so instead of our future updated themes, they will download your outdated icons themes. Do not worry, when your repository will be deleted, our forks won't be deleted according to GitHub: https://help.github.com/articles/what-happens-to-forks-when-a-repository-is-deleted-or-changes-visibility/.

I've deleted the two repositories. It would be nice to credit me some where as one of the initial authors and a link to the respective GTK-themes would be welcome. I will be deleting the gnome-look pages too. So you will have to recreate something.

Can we have your name and family name for initial author?

Once you have set-up the gnome-look pages (I will be deleting my own) I will provide links to your pages in my Arrongin and Telinkrin GTK pages. Please notify me here once you have completed that, so I can remove my pages

Hi, Paul, I updated the repository of your icons theme, renaming to Suru++ Telinkrin. I purged all the outdated icons and replaced for updated icons, for working in KDE, so I and Andrea have fixed a lot of icons bugs in KDE. And I reserved Telinkrin-coloured icons and redesigned all Telinkrin-uncoloured icons, repainting them with Telinkrin colour. And I readjusted the relative paths of icons of Suru++ Telinkrin to Suru++. And I updated README. Check https://github.com/gusbemacbe/suru-plus-telinkrin.

Please contact me, if you are interested in taking over the Telinkrin and Arrongin icon theme. I do not have the time to continue... They are not that different (mainly the folder-colors and a handfull of app's)

Now as I am a new contributor of his repository, I am responsible for the manutention of repositories, for the update and fixing his repositories bugs. Andrea isn't a programmer, he just know basic commands and basically GitHub. Please create two folders and publish them to GitHub, using commands of git or of GitHub Desktop (https://github.com/shiftkey/desktop/releases) which comes with a Debian package or AppImage and publish to new repositories and transfer them to me that I will work with Markdown files and Git files and I will transfer to him (only if he wants to be an administrator). Thank you for your answer, attention and understanding!

with the latest update I get the coloured app icon for the insync indicator applet but it should be symbolic - it was fine before. The rest of the insync icons are lovely

Hi fishears, thanks for the report, I'm working to solve!in previous versions it works?

Report

fishears

Yes it worked in previous version: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1kB7DoJuz6PPMzLvZa_BlcXIuEKb19XrM
So in the current version it is definitely using your icon in app/scalable/insync.svg for both the application and the appindicator. (I tested this by removing that icon)

By default the app uses a bunch of status icons for the appindicator HTH -
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/status/insync-action.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/status/insync-error.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/status/insync-feed.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/status/insync-normal.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/status/insync-offline.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/status/insync-paused.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/status/insync-share.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/status/insync-synced.png
/usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/status/insync-syncing.png

Hello @fishears,

As a new contributor, as an Ubuntu 16.04 user complained that the folders are not well displayed, I fixed the index.theme. Please check the Github repository, update, report if it works or not.

I will talk with Andrea.

Yes, I can confirm that this works the same for me as 1.1.1 did. I use 18.04 BTW

Hello Andrea,

I updated your Github repository and improved README, and please, review my pull request there.

Looking at the readme on github... might be good to include an instruction for just using the latest release zip for installations as an alternative to cloning. In my experience this suits some users better - no CLI ;)
