However I did find out where it was in CVS and yes with transset it get's sweeter.

Now to find out what all of the switches do. (beyond -c) Not much in the way of docs yet.

Any chance of supplying a link to the source?

Well, lets take a guess, where we can get Xorg sources... why not try

http://www.x.org/

;-)

Btw. the screenshot only shows half the fun.. use transset to make windows transparent... !!

is this real transparency, not like konsoles where it only shows the wallpaper, and not lower windows?

Those with the latest Xorg X11 6.8.0 release can enable the new composite extension and create drop shadows around X11 windows, etc. with xcompmgr. Since it doesn't come with SuSE's RPMs (ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/supplementary/X/XFree86/Xorg/Xorg-X11R6.8.0-untested/i386/suse91) this is a handy lil' thing to have.

I installed the rpm's, rebooted, and still have just plain old XFree86.... what am I missing?

Maybe you got to have these in you xorg.conf

Section "Extensions"
Option "Composite" "Enable"
EndSection

then after having rebooted execute

xcompmgr -c &

in the console and you'll have it.

Where's the xorg.conf file supposed to be located? I did a 'find / -name xorg.conf' as root and it didn't turn anything up.

It's working, now. thanks. I guess I didn't have XFree86, anymore, I just thought it was, cuz it looked the same. but with xcompmgr running. It's obvious this ain't XFree, anymore! :-D

Well...I like that background. As far as what this actually is, no idea. Thanks for following the "English only" rule.
