Description: This is a very simple bootsplash theme for Debian systems. To be able to use it, you have to compile a new kernel first (see http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=49036 for a howto, it's ok for Debian too). Then you have to get some packages from http://debian.bootsplash.de: # apt-get install bootsplash bootsplash-theme-newlinux sysv-rc-bootsplash Now you are ready to unpack my tar file: # tar xzf debian-svg-1.0.tar.gz cd to the new directory and run: # ./install-splash
The tarball contains the splash screens for the resolution 1280x1024. For the other popular resolutions (800x600, 1024x768, ...) it contains an SVG file which will be converted to a JPEG file by install-splash. This means that you have to # apt-get install inkscape imagemagick if you have different resolutions.
