Set as Wallpaper
Dolphin Service Menus
Score 75%
Description:

This ServiceMenu allows you to set images as Desktop Wallpaper/Background from within Dolphin's context menu. But to save you some disappointments here are some facts:
---
* Currently only one boring desktop/activity/monitor is supported , for other setups if it works for you, great, if not am sorry. People have reported that it didn't work on such setups.
* Widgets need to be unlocked, otherwise it won't work. Thanks @FraQu, see (1)
* Am neither a developer nor an expert on this area, just a "normal" user. Any Feature requests/Bugs should be directed to KDE bug tracker. See (1) and (2).
* Yes, I know it is s... but hey, if you know a better way, let us know :-)
*Still reading? Nice! Here is how you can use it:
- Copy/move the downloaded file to ~/.local/share/kservices5/ServiceMenus/ (make that directory if it doesn't exist).
- Rightclick an image (png/jpeg) and click "Set as Wallpaper".

(4) It's also true, more text here than features :-)

If you ever encounter "Could not find the program qdbus", open the *.desktop file and look for "Exec=" line and change "qdbus" to "qdbus-qt5".

You will be happy (or displeased) to know that on my mulit-monitor setup this service menu does absolutely nothing. And yes, I did unlock the widgets. At least it didn't do anything detrimental. Thanks for the effort.

Works perfect. Maybe will be nice to add the option to choose which desktop will change the wallpaper in the case of multiple monitors.
Thanks for your work

Not working until the desktop widgets are unlocked (Plasma 5.8).
For me... it's useless but it's good to see features that should be as default in DE.
Keep going :)

Thanks for the comment!
True, it doesn't work if widgets are locked. I didn't notice that as I have widgets always unlocked. Looking forward a workaround, until then you may have a look at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=217950
This Servicemenu is actually a hack for something that DE should offer out of the box. I was frustrated about the lack of this option and after searching I found that bug and thought let's make a Servicemenu of it and share it with people that are also missing it. Let's see what KDE guys will do about it.
