Could WM buttons be made so that moving the cursor to screen border would still allow to press them i.e. if I move the screen to top-right corner and click this would close the window? - Jun 30 2012
Also, (at least) Oxygen Cold color scheme doesn't integrate well with window decoration (i'm using KDE 4.5.1) - looks like contrast mismatch. - Jan 03 2011
Ah, yeah, some more issues:
- disabled entries have hover effect while they shouldn't
- scrollbar arrows aren't prelit
- scrollbar handle looks a bit wrong (light borders should fade to their ends). - Jan 03 2011
Nice theme, but it has several issues (tested rc version):
- in oxygen kde control panel OK button looks pressed when it's default.
- no horizontal line under tabs
- strange look of newly-installed add-ons in add-ons window (they look like selected, resulting in two items selected view)
- some glitches in checkbox and checkbox ticks size - checkboxes are sometimes stretched (e.g. in restart confirmation window), and ticks are too small (in preferences window)
- prelight in multi-column lists is too thin on headers and scrollbars
- combobox down arrows are positioned too far from right slab border
- spinbox arrows are not prelit
- focused radio buttons (see internet connection settings) have dashed rectangles while oxygen shouldn't have this type of focus indication at all
- frames don't have fading gradient at bottom

Dunno if any of these bugs are easy to fix or are known, i posted for the case if you didn't notice some of them.

In other regards, the theme is REALLY VERY nice. I'd recommend it for anyone for using with Firefox instead of firefox Default + Oxygen-GTK. - Jan 03 2011

QtCurve likely uses a blacklist of applications so that blacklisted apps wouldn't become transparent. Otherwise it'll crash, as was the case with oxygen-gtk before 1.0.2. - Sep 16 2011
This means the problem is likely not with oxygen-gtk, but rather with your video driver (oxygen-gtk is just triggering the driver bugs). - Mar 21 2011
You should start the program via gdb (best is having compiled oxygen-gtk with debug info and having installed GTK+ debug info):

gdb program_name
(wait for loading of debug infos)
break gdk_x_error
(answer y if asked about not yet loaded libs)
r --sync
(breakpoint triggers here)
bt
(backtrace is printed) - Mar 20 2011
Ah, wrong. It's not what helped me. You should change git.kde.org to anongit.kde.org. Then it works even with git:// .
So, the command transforms to:
git clone -b 1.0 git://anongit.kde.org/oxygen-gtk - Feb 13 2011
Try changing git:// to http:// . This will be a bit slower than usual, but at least worked for me. - Feb 13 2011
I think it's not our fault. This is usually because widget doesn't call theme to draw background - it fills it with plain bg color itself. - Feb 13 2011
I successfully compile it on GTK 2.20.1 - Feb 12 2011
You seem to have very old version of GTK. This function first appeared in GTK 2.20.
But, anyway, you shouldn't get this problem with 1.0 branch. Get branch 1.0 with this command:
git clone git://anongit.kde.org/oxygen-gtk -b 1.0

And now do git-bisect using 1.0.0 as good revision and 1.0.1 as bad one.
Thanks. - Jan 24 2011
Could you try using git-bisect to find the guilty commit? - Jan 24 2011
Seems KDE doesn't apply GTK theme correctly for all apps. Try applying oxygen-gtk via gtk-chtheme or gtk2-theme-switch. - Jan 12 2011
Unfortunately, i don't have any amd64 OS installed.
If you need deb to install to several systems without need to recompile multiple times, you can compile once using checkinstall this way:

mkdir build
cd build
cmake ..
checkinstall -D

it will let you enter some settings, and will install the deb it generates. You'll get a deb package in the build directory.
You can then install this deb to other machines (and send this file to Hugo, so that other amd64 users could benefit from it). - Jan 05 2011

Does blacklisting this app in argb-apps.conf make it work (read README file to learn how to do it)? - Dec 15 2010
Actually it IS possible, if you use CAIRO_OPERATOR_SOURCE and draw background image with alpha (though this might need to be done on a separate surface, which then would be blitted to the window with this operator). - Dec 14 2010
The artifacts you show are usually because of applying the theme using non-DE-driven way. E.g. in GNOME you should use gnome-appearance-preferences, in KDE - systemsettings.
What tool have you used for this? - Dec 13 2010
Please file bug reports about these. And be sure to tell which versions you use. - Dec 13 2010
Ideally, you should upgrade GTK to version 2.20.x.
But if it's not possible with your distro, try removing this from src/oxygenstylewrapper.cpp:

else if( GTK_IS_TOOL_ITEM_GROUP( widget ) ) {

return;

} - Dec 13 2010
Try logging out, then relogin. - Dec 13 2010
This is likely due to old GTK version. Which one do you have? - Dec 13 2010

Hi. I'm trying to disable mapKdeIcons. I have tried to create a file ~/.config/qtcurve/stylerc with contents:
mapKdeIcons=false
but this not only disables mapKdeIcons, but also changes style to ugly Plastique-like. I guess this is because other variables are not set. For now, i had to change source to opts->mapKdeIcons=false; . Is there a nicer way (maybe i can get stylerc with default (Oxygen-like) style to change it)? - Sep 02 2010
Hello.
As i try to set QtCurve as GTK theme, it increases font size (or DPI) so that i can't change it back until X restart. How can i disable such behavior? - Aug 28 2010
>If you can supply me with some example code, or point to a Gtk2 engine, that does rounding for Gtk2 - then I will think about this.

It's done in my pixbuf engine modification:

I'm working on changing QtCurve style to Oxygen style. Currently work is going on translating Qt Oxygen code into GTK/cairo API. After i finish it, i'll start changing QtCurve itself to draw widgets using then-just-finished Oxygen style instead of current one. - Aug 28 2010

Good theme, but one bad thing: tabs are not prelighted when mouse cursor is over them (in the default theme inactive prelight tabs are slightly brighter). - May 19 2010

BTW, toolbuttons and toggle buttons are not as in KDE style. Compare e.g. Dolphin toolbar (normal&prelight&active buttons) and pcmanfm/nautilus one. - Apr 21 2010

AFAIR, Firefox doesn't use GTK as its drawing toolkit. It instead just tries to use GTK theme, much like OpenOffice.
So, you should send this report to firefox bug tracker instead. - Apr 10 2010
Currently there's no way of doing so without modifying the engine itself.
I have modified it and this works, but other themes using pixbuf may render menus incorrectly.
Here it is (includes patch by walmis):

Thanks. #3 is now solved. - Apr 07 2010
The theme is great, but there's still some field for improvement (i tested kde4.4 version):
1. In some cases active buttons have dots on their perimeter. I haven't seen this in KDE. And this looks ugly.
2. Tabs have no prelight effect.
3. Insensitive buttons have ugly dotted out icons (this can be seen on the second screenshot - 'forward' button in Firefox). They are grayscale instead in KDE4.4.
4. Menus are rectangular... - Apr 06 2010
