I think it's a bug with the latest python ie 2.7 in Natty.Just started recently. - Dec 21 2010
Been using folderview for a while now and it just keeps getting better =]

One small bug with version 0.92...when a background image is used its corners stick past the rounded corners of the screenlet. - Oct 30 2009

Cool beans!

I'll keep an eye out for the update.

Any chance we will see a Natty PPA any time soon? - Dec 21 2010

Been using the screenlets for quite some time now...love it!

I have started testing Ubuntu Natty 11.04 and they have begun the transition to python 2.7

Since then the screenlet fails with this error:

File "/home/anduu/.screenlets/GoogleCalendar/GoogleCalendarScreenlet.py", line 1449, in <module>

I am far from an expert so this may have nothing to do with python at all but perhaps it could get looked into?

Thanks! - Dec 16 2010

Oops didn't work quite as expected...

Haven't tried everything yet however if I try to list packages of a non natty ppa it comes up blank.

I'll have to tinker a bit more ;) - Nov 16 2010
Edit...read through some of the comments on the blog and came up with a fix.

Modified /usr/y-ppa-cmd from

case $UBUVER in
karmic|lucid|maverick) ;;
*) echo You are not using Ubuntu 9.10, 10.04 or 10.10

to

case $UBUVER in
karmic|lucid|maverick|natty) ;;
*) echo You are not using Ubuntu 9.10, 10.04 or 10.10 - Nov 16 2010
Been hoping for a search feature for ppas forever...however y-ppa-manager is not working for me.

It launches fine but no matter which option i select if gives me an error "You are not using Ubuntu 9.10 10.04 or 10.10"

It is correct however I was under the understanding that it should work for Ubuntu 11.04 as well. - Nov 16 2010

Nice...its all working well now :)
Thumbnails work now too!

Here is an example of the "noise" I see on mouseover of an image. http://members.shaw.ca/anduu/pics/screenshot_001.jpg - Jun 20 2010
Oops one more thing...

When files/folders are added i have to restart the screenlet to refresh the vies. - Jun 19 2010
That was quick work getting it fixed...good job!

Cannot wait to see where you go with this.

A couple things on my wish list:

1:Better GTK theme support. When I switch to a dark theme and background the font is unreadable as it remains dark.

2:Possibly have sub folders expand as well?

3:Thumbnails...Image files are displayed as a blank box-(Could the thumbnail be displayed here rather than having to hover to see the image?)
Also while hovering the image displays fine however there is a large area of "noise' around the image.

Anyway...the Screenlet looks very promising.Keep up the good work!

No it doesn't work for me. - Jun 16 2010
Try running it from a terminal to see if it is spitting out any errors:

python /home/username/.screenlets/AnotherFolderView/AnotherFolderViewScreenlet.py

My info:
python-gtkglext1 version 1.1.0-4
python-numpy version 1:1.3.0-3build1
python-opengl version 3.0.0-0ubuntu1

Also of note I am running the Xorg-Edgers versions of Xorg and ATI Radeon drivers.

Let me know if you need any more info.

Screenlet looks great...would love to get it up and running =]

Very nice looking theme however for me the mix of red and green doesn't look very "professional"

I would suggest a pure green and a pure red version.Just my two cent.

Kepp up the good work =]

Tried it with Suede 2 and Etiquette Icons from gnome-Art which I know to be broken and it works like a charm.

It's going to be great being able to use some old icon themes again.

Thanks a bunch.

Cool it loads up for me now and functions as advertised ;)

Hopefully it can be optimized a bit more..I get 20% cpu spikes every couple of seconds.Perhaps we need a configurable refresh time?

Also being able to pick our own fonts/colors would be a nice touch.

A couple minor annoyances.
-Very specific areas for grabbing/moving and selecting the options menu.We should be able to grab anywhere in the screenlet.
-Also my card is a "GeForce 7000M / nForce" and the text runs off the right edge of the background.

All in all this is a screenlet I will definitely use...good job :)

Awesome idea for a screenlet.Unfortunately I can't get it to run.I have emailed a report.

I would love to see this in action.
