Use 7zip x to extract with directories from the command line

Or if you have file-roller just double click on it or rightclick and choose extract here.

If the file size is an issue maybe offer the classic/nautilus elementary versions as separate downloads. Many themes seem to have more than one download on the same page - Jun 23 2010
This is so good. The screenshots don't do it justice - you have to use it for a while to appreciate the nice touches

Not too sure about the metacity buttons. The outline looks a bit soft

How did you get rid of the places button?

I am using the nautilus elementary from bzr but I really wanted to get rid of the button that lets you choose between tree/notes/information etc, this is just wasted space as I always want places. - Apr 21 2010

If you want really transparent panel try installing Docky in panel mode or DockbarX and also maybe enable the Blur Plugin in Compiz.

You might need to install compizconfig-settings-manager to play with the blur effect.

Docky FTW - Apr 12 2010
The colour chooser was just to set the text colour to white, the transparency depends on the theme - Apr 12 2010
Also, you might want to install this to set the text colour to white in the panel:

sudo apt-get install gnome-color-chooser

Set the forground colour to white on the panel tab then click apply - Apr 11 2010
This works great on the themes that have transparent backgrounds for the window list items or the application menu, but some themes such as the default in Lucid override the colour

Themes which work so far include Dust Sand and Unified. I'm sure we could hack any gtk theme to remove the relevant lines about the panels. - Apr 11 2010

I hit a small bug because I was using a slightly larger font for the titlebar

I wondered why mine looked different to everyone else, if you make the font larger you get an ugly border between the menubar and the titlebar which disappears if you shrink the font

Great stuff though, thanks for the quick turnaround.

Looks even better if you turn off transparency for inactive windows in gconf-editor /apps/gwd/metacity_theme_opacity =1 - Feb 01 2010

The buttons looks amazing!

Personally, I don't like the wasp stripes so I commented out lines 240-294 to disable them, but that is just me

If you were looking for a suggestion to improve it I would say the mouseover on the buttons is not as bling as the rest, but it is still a fantastic theme - Jan 12 2010

I can see why you did it for reasons of symmetry, but how about a variation on the theme with the logo rotated to the normal position and the three dots the larger size?

In Ubuntu you can install it with

sudo apt-get install ttf-droid

There was a comment on how to fix the main icon after this was featured on OMG!UBUNTU!

Elie Charest:

Okay, I figured it out: you have to copy the ubuntone-client.png icons in the appropriate size folders for apps in /usr/share/icons/hicolor. For example, copy the 24x24 ubuntuone-client.png icon in the /usr/share/icons/hicolor/24x24/apps directory.

I had tried this repeatedly and it didn't work, until I realized I needed to issue the following command in order to update the icon cache:

$ sudo gtk-update-icon-cache -f /usr/share/icons/hicolor

Restarting UbuntuOne after that displayed the correct greyscale icon once connected. - Oct 15 2009
