Since markey likes to keep us guessing, this script won't work on newer versions of amaroK (unless something has changed again :P). Line 171 needs to be changed to:
song = popen("dcop amarok player coverImage").read()[0:-1]

Basically, change playlist to player.

Its a cool script. Don't listen to them, Karamba folks can write Karamba scripts, this is better as it is. I didn't even know you could do this.

An idea would be to use a QSocketNotifier rather then QTimer to query for updates. You can see the ruby template or Uplisting for a ruby version of this.

The script is incorrectly packaged for the amaroK install script thing to work. The correct format is described at the end of: - Feb 01 2005

You edit the configuration with the GUI. Just click 'configure' in the amaroK script manager. I will add instructions on how to install it, given that this is the first amaroK script on kde-apps. - Jan 26 2005

In case it throws anyone else off, this file isn't actually gzipped. So just tar -xvf is all you need. - Jan 06 2005

Are you saying wolfs howls aren't musical enough? They would be offended by that, I'm sure. - Dec 31 2004
The wolf is howling. The issue is that most of the obvious clich├ęs for music players have already been used, in form or another.

And it certainly states its purpose better then Kaffeine's icon... heh.

I'd assume folks that can't figure out that amaroK is a KDE program probably don't care one way or another. - Dec 21 2004

Looks crystalish enough to me, I doubt the amaroK devs are going to be that picky about crystal.

However, it is just a speaker. Kind of plain. - Dec 16 2004

I agree. Though its not because Bush is an idiot. NASA has always been wasting money on its low-science-for-the-buck human space program. The ISS is not much more then a money sink.

A manned mission to Mars is a good idea I think, but its not going to happen soon with the ISS taking all the money.

Cool background. I hope color pictures of the rings come out soon. - Jul 04 2004

Sounds like another feature to me. I've never seen anyone else with their covers organized in that manner. Maybe you could write a script to copy or make symlinks to the covers in the actual album directory. That's where amaroK looks, though I'm not 100% sure how it works. - Jul 02 2004

Not really a feature request, perhaps more of a new app request. But it would be really nice to use the power of KRename with MP3 ID3 tags. - Jun 30 2004

Well, you don't know if you don't ask.

Sounds like you need to setup CVS - then you can work on the same source without having to worry about having to send in a patch every few hours.

The fact of the matter is, for us users, its annoying having two versions. - Apr 22 2003
