Finally a theme which is at least different than countless repeating murrine based ones. I liked the colors, except the selected_fg_color; it kinda melts in cyan, IMO would've been better if it were black.

# This prevents Sodipodi from crashing while opening the
# Object-Style dialog.
style "unstyle"
{
engine ""
{
}
}
I guess these lines cause the "not as intended" warning. But other than that, it complains about a lot of missing pixmaps, try launching gcalctool on terminal and better watch these file paths. - Jan 10 2009

This is the first theme I've seen which uses the default engine!

You already mentioned it, it's possible with
bg_pixmap[NORMAL]="background_image.png"
Not?

Hei, thanks for the bug report, I realized this bug soon after releasing it, but it doesn't effect the theme except the "default engine not found" or whatever complaints. So' actually the theme looks as intended. The gtkrc file needs to be cleaned up a bit for the next version anyhow.
Kiitos, ymmärän ja puhun suomea vähän :)

Thanks for your comment and feedback!
Actually you can change that color yourself, as you like. (Appearence preferences > customize > colors tab > input boxes)
I'm sure you know better than I do, what color you want :)

That line wasn't changed since first version, must be working fine.. unless you're using an older distro, which has an older version of clearlooks engine.

Sorry, I thought it looked more like dirty and inconsistent than rustic.
But I'll keep in mind what you said, I don't receive any feedbacks mostly, thank you very much.

It's a modified version of tmilovan's T-ish, but I was too lazy to finish it. So it's still "work in progress".

You better give it a try, inkscape is much more fun when you get used to it. - Oct 08 2006

the reason why it looks like that is, the background pixmap image used in the theme, and also the "fake transparency" of gnome-panel.
You have some options:
* do not use panel transparency
* use xgl and compiz, use real transparency
* remove the line starting with "bg_pixmap" in gtkrc file and use the theme without brushed metal background.
* wait for an unpixmapped new version :)

Nice compilation,
But the original theme names and especially authors should have been credited on *THIS PAGE*, "not entirely made by me" is not a good/ethical explanation. - Sep 11 2007

I recommend you boys (ubuntu-chick wallpaper "makers") to prepare your own "Ubuntu Adult Edition" and bundle all these with it.
I'm sure this will attract more people than Nelson Mandela's speech about Ubuntu philosophy!

Better than my first theming attempts :)
But still, not usable.. Strong saturation and contrast can be ok for icons, but not for the gui background, it's not an "eye friendly" idea.
I mean, try reducing some saturation and contrast.

Sorry, it was my mistake, a double "http://" in the link...
As you said, some parts are not that sharp, I was experimenting the blur function of Inkscape .45 .

The comment above was for the previous release, it was a bit dark actually :)
Anyway, I think ATER Metacity theme goes just fine with Polycarbonate-DarkOne:

these benchmark results may be differing due to cairo and/or gtk versions. under edgy, default test with gtkperf gave

so, not that slow :)

the panel pixmap gets tiled when panel is vertical.
solution: non-pixmapped panel?
other than this, the theme gave me some new ideas and inspirations for Polycarbonate :) - Sep 15 2006

but the name is a bit confusing, since themes with the name "Polycarbonate" were already released earlier. Though this one's "Carbonate" starts with capital C.

is it fast or what?!!

that's a really nice one, looks like compiz / gnome-window-decorator too :)
actually, I wouldn't file this as a bug, but rounded corners disappear when maximized. Nothing disturbing though. - Mar 28 2006

idea is nice, there can be some people who like to use panes as well as tabs.
but I guess there's something missing in this mockup, the handle between two panes :) - Feb 03 2006

my whole desktop becomes white when I try to drag a file.
probably because of using gnome development release, 2.9.x, since it seems I'm the only one who experienced this. - Feb 05 2005
