The edition and the backup of the metadata use exiftool. Although you have installed the good package, perhaps exiftool is not in your $PATH (there was a similar bug for Arch Linux).
So, first, verify that exiftool is really in your $PATH, using the following command: whereis exiftool
If exiftool is not in your $PATH, you can find it with this command: find /usr -name "exiftool" -type f
So, you can report this bug in your distribution and/or you can create a symbolic link for exiftool: ln -s /usr/bin/vendor_perl/exiftool /usr/bin/exiftool where /usr/bin/vendor_perl/exiftool is the response of the previous command. - May 04 2012
Foremost, verify that exiftool is really in your $PATH (with: whereis exiftool).
Then, do you have this error with another file? Perhaps your file contains some DRM limitations.
An error log is available in $(kde4-config --path tmp)pdfktools.log, it can help you to solve your problem. Or copy it in a comment in order to have more details. - Apr 28 2012
Thanks for your work!
It is up to date on kde-apps.org. - Aug 13 2011
I will modify it in the next version. If you are interested by other features, let me know. - Mar 11 2011
Thanks for your comment and the Hungarian translation which has been added in the latest version (0.1.2). - Mar 07 2011
This is very strange. I use KDE 4.6.0 (Arch Linux) and it works for me.
If gs (ghostscript), kdialog and exiftool are not in your PATH, the service menu is automatically hidden. Please, check if these applications are in your PATH, for example with the command 'whereis' (whereis gs,...).

About the metadata, when you cancel all the questions, the file is re-written with the same metadata if they exist. - Mar 01 2011
Thanks for your comment and the Greek translation :)
Nevertheless, I don't have access to http://www.mandrivalinux.gr/dimitrios/pdfktools.desktop and http://www.mandrivalinux.gr/dimitrios/pdfktools_el.po. For the both files, I have an "ERROR 403: Forbidden" :'( Could you modify this access, please ? Thanks. - Jan 18 2011

Hello,

In my previous message, I have not seen a mistake in the translation. I have forgotten a space between "l'(les)" and "image(s)" :
Name=Convert image(s) into single pdf
Name[fr]=Convertir l'(les) image(s) dans un fichier pdf unique
Sorry... :$ - Aug 17 2010
Thx for this service menu.

Just a note: we can add in [Desktop Entry] section : TryExec=convert
If convert is not found, then the service menu is hidden.

In French,
- Name=Convert image(s) to separate pdf
Name[fr]=Convertir l'(les) image(s) au format pdf
- Name=Convert image(s) into single pdf
Name[fr]=Convertir l'(les)image(s) dans un fichier pdf unique - Aug 10 2010

Thanks for this video player.

Just a note:
- the loopy.desktop has an encoding problem,
- the title bar has also an encoding problem when the title has non-ascii characters.

You probably know it, but it exists also a video player based on phonon libraries, named Dragon Player. It may interest you.

Good luck for the future. - Mar 07 2010
