Congratulations. Very beautiful. But how come you admire Suse that much? I tried 10.2 and nearly everything there was bad. I prefer Linux Mint over it.
Has it improved that much? - Jun 19 2008

Forgot to say that the corners are ugly but that's just due to dekorator. Emerald is plain better I think.
- Jun 19 2008
Stunning background.
I'd put the menu icon a bit more to the left.
The upper grey strip on the taskbar BG is way too wide, I'd reduce it to 60% or so (or just use the original Kore taskbar BG, I think it's perfect).
The window deco top border also looks way too much plastic-like to fit a glossy theme.
Magnificent splash screen. - Jun 19 2008

I agree, KBFX is a total mess.

Me too.
- Jun 19 2008
I really like this theme, but I think you could significantly improve its appearance by exchanging the current taskbar BG with the Kore one as your theme is a glossy one and no plastic-style.

...preview, but the picture has too much noise and overall too bad quality for a wallpaper. So I didn't rate it, it's better than bad but too bad for good.
- May 18 2008
Hier können ja alle Deutsch^^
This wallpaper is the best nature-wallpaper on kde-look, no idea why some rate it down. I just think that the clouds need a bit more smoothness, maybe unsharpen them where necessary. - May 14 2008

This is the very best landscape I've ever seen. I am using code2's Kore wallpaper though- it fits the Kore theme much better.
But it's so sharp and and and... everything's just perfect.
But it's not HDR :|
If it was also HDR it was unbeatable forever... - Oct 07 2007

Klasse? Ganz ehrlich, das ist unscharf und hat niedrige Qualität. Abgesehen davon finde ich das Bild als Wallpaper nicht sehr gut.

Read the instructions, please.
"Instructions:
After you downloaded it, rename it and remove the generised number (eg. 22367-Mint Kore.kth to Mint Kore.kth). Thats probably due to problems that occur because of the difference of folder name and name of the xml file (which will still be Mint Kore.kth)" - Apr 29 2008

I'm sorry, kde-look.org changed something here- now you'll come to a download page when clicking on the file link instead of being linked to the file directly. (In former days, you would have gotten a text file displayed in your browser which wouldn't be any use, that's probably the reason why they changed that)

I think it's too simple. I totally dislike wallpapers with contrasts and color palettes that make it unuseful, but this is the very other extreme sider.

I'm not a friend of transparency too, that's why I did this green version of code2's Kore suite.

I made a .emerald version now. If it doesn't work, please tell me and I'll fix it (I can't check it at the moment).
You can rename it from .emerald to .tar and unpack it. ~/.emerald/themes is just a link to your home folder (eg /home/USER/.emerald/themes). - Apr 18 2008

The first of the three previews looks like another (worse, sorry) version of code2's Illuminate and the 3rd like another (also worse, sorry) version of code2's KORE.
Maybe I'm not right, but it resembles a lot of code2's excellent work. - Mar 26 2008

You are right. Bad quality, almost unusable as a wallpaper, this should be at about 55%. No way he didn't cheat.
- Mar 03 2008
Well, I can't use KDE 4 yet (not enough downloading capacity :-( ), but this style is what I've always been missing when using domino and experiencing it's (very strong) limits.
Just from what I can see in these screenshots, it really is what I've been dreaming of.
Thank you a lot, as soon as I use KDE 4 I will use this and only this.
It's amazing how awesome the next releases will have to be (as even 4.0, which is very unstable and unfinished, is just great). You are making it even better. - Feb 08 2008

Even better than Crystal Project or Oxygen. But one icon I kinda dislike: the Konqueror one. Theses cylinder-thinigies on the side should be larger and maybe fancier.

I think KORE by code2 suits it very well. At least in my eyes.
- Nov 23 2007
It's really awesome. I've never seen something superior to it, just some equals.
But there are some things to improve, I think- eg some corners should be imo a bit rounded. But congratulations!
PS why isn't it possible to provide a pack in "normal" size (20 MB or so)? - Nov 07 2007

..but the quality is very bad so I can't use it as a wallpaper.
- Jan 09 2008
True. The moon does barely fit in my eyes. Please provide the version without the moon?
- Jan 07 2008
That's because KDE 4 is nowhere close to release. Maybe in two months.
- Dec 17 2007
The screenshot is just the one from code2, the icon pack isn't released by him yet. I just had no time to use it, and it's- as I said- only the dekorator theme by Yaccin modified so it REALLY looks like Kore for Emerald.

Domino>>>>All other Style Themes, but it would be perfect if we could change the "background" of the buttons (so the line between the first gradient and the second would not be just a straight line but changeable, eg round on left&right like some Mac button designs.
I think that would be a nice idea and mabe could be realised.
With background I mean black on Alpha (transparency), and black stands for the line between the gradients, so the background for the actual standard look would be:
Just the shapes of the buttons (round left&right) and a straight horizontal line in the middle)
Can this be done? It would make domino really perfect and timeless. - Oct 10 2007

Install the whole compiz-fusion package with synaptic or what you want to use. Make sure you have the right drvers for your graphics card installed before this.
Just select all the packages with the name compiz or emerald in it. - Nov 30 2007

Sorry, but I don't like this white/black font on light grey~brown background. It doesn't fit the windecos nor the Domino buttons well.

I think it's quite good but too simple for my taste.
There is just the background, the lm logo and its reflection, and the light green/black-circle-fading.
I don't like wallpapers that are very complex and aggressive, but this could be far more complex. - Oct 23 2007

Well, I feel free and quote you:
"I'm more happy if I got a comment to it than a good or bad vote..."
So I added a comment.
There is no standardised font color.
The background of the Konqueror panels look... not good.
Dark blue font on dark green background? :{
Flashy, aggressive green colors...
There are many reasons I don't like it. Do you want to forbid me to say that? Critic should make the criticised people refine their work. I am no foe of this idea. - Oct 19 2007

The color's are clashing. No unique design, just parts that dont match.
- Oct 15 2007
overdone and unfitting. None of the parts fits to another part.
- Oct 15 2007
That your Domino theme is really good. Nice contrast and not overdone. I think you could build up the theme around the domino theme.

Hello mayku, IMO your theme is kinda overdone. Maybe it's just taste, but I prefer themes with mainly "modest" colors, flashy ones like intense blue or pink only used for highlioghted fields/buttons/etc.
Your theme is probably also based on Kore by code2? There are so many atm, I have also made a mod of his work (just fixed some bugs, nothing really changed) and will make a self-installing package to install the whole Kore with just one configure file.
It hink code2 is the most influencing artist on the whole site. (Maybe Crystal Project > Kore, but CP is being made by a whole group and Kore only by code2).
Look:
http://www.kde-look.org/CONTENT/content-pre2/54701-2.png
he uses this light blue only for some active and important buttons, and this makes Kore that good. If you like having blue everywhere more, it's for sure OK, but I at least recommend using a black Kicker wall and not a blue/white one.
I have similar problems with my project. It's really hard to make a theme that has a high eye-candy effect and at the same time doesn't disturb your concentration. - Oct 10 2007

WOW. I found someone to talk with & someone who shares some interests with me.
Most people I want to communicate with aren't even viewing their comments. :hapy:
I'd prefer round corners on the bottom of the windows, or at least "real" corners (90° x/y). And the color contrast for selected units should be higher (either lighter text or background with more intensive blue).
About the sky theme...
the first try was just ugly, I know that. So I took some sky images to get natural colors. But I'm not very happy with the reswult, too...
The colors are too pale, I think. But Idk what I should change first- the buttons (close minimize etc) or the color scheme (the first attempt to change was bad too).
Ill pick some better blue colors and intensify the contrast. Hope it will improve to an acceptable niveau that way.
BTW: Prolly its juz taste, but Id like your windeco more if ud put the close etc buttons to the very right side.
BTW#2: I use Emerald cuz of 2 reasons :1st I got used to it by using code2s Kore emerald theme and 2nd I think it's very simple& easy & logical in use (as little bitmaps necessary as possible; I welcome that very much since pixel editing is definitely NOT fast. When I first used Gimp I didnt even know that there is a function to make color-changeovers so I edited EVERY pixel and it took so much time to get the right colors...lol) - Oct 08 2007

Looks very similar to code2's Illuminate

It looks very similar to code2's Illuminate (see on code2.deviantart.com). But doesn't mean I don't like it.
It's really beautiful, but (1) BLACK background makes most web pages unreadable. It's hard enough with grey background
(2) I like Kore more. - Oct 08 2007

How to install this? I downloaded the KDE3 version and typed those mkdir commands etc. But I don't understand what's the reason for creatring a directory and trying to install something into there that doesn't exist?

Hello, sorry that I didn't see your message earlier.
The problem is that code2 has activated something that should NOT be activated in the Domino cofiguration dialogue.
It's something lke "Special color for tooltips" or so. Just deactivate it. - Oct 07 2007

Superior to the default KDE style, although I prefer different styles (non-blue) like code2's KORE.
- Oct 05 2007
Right after you downloaded it, rename it from "645464-KoreX.kth" (or another number) to "KoreX.kth" or it CANT work. If youve done this, import with the kcontrol section theme management or so.
- Sep 30 2007
Just open kcontrol and import the design theme.

However, I don't think Crystal Project fits your theme that much and the progress bar appears a little bit awkward. - Jun 19 2008
