Thanks! Now I have an OS X mockup for my Qt4/Gtk2 apps. I like the metal texture of the menus. - Nov 25 2013

Hi,

You can also install "Nightly Tester Tools" from Mozilla Add-ons, and check "Force add-on compatibility", so that you can enable Oxygen KDE.

Great theme! Worth donating! - Sep 24 2013

Thanks, ya, "plasma-widget-fancytasks_1.1.2_amd64.deb" this is what I installed on my Kubuntu :) - Mar 20 2013
Hi, I'd like to thank you for this great piece of work. It's by far the most usable dock plasmoid! Hope this get more improvement :)

Excuse me I have a problem here: since in the option dialog "Actions" have listed "Activate Task", "Activate Launcher" and "Activate Item". By default left-clicking is "Activate Item", but if I use "group by program name" then clicking on task thumbnails in groups, the action would be treated as "Activate Launcher" because the expected behavior of switching task does not happen, but all the launchers in the launcher area are all activated... = =

If I left-click on the group icon itself, the child list appears, but clicking on any item does not do anything at all.

"Activate Task" seems to work find with thumbnails, but it cannot activate launchers. - Mar 19 2013

Hi guys,

Thanks a lot for your suggestions and responses, I'll check those! - Jan 11 2011
Hi there, thanks a lot for making this handing tool on KDE4! Just what we need!

I've just installed it with the shell script, and then the service menu is appearing. However, when using "Generating public link...", I got a message "`kde4-config not found", and the notifier says "It looks that some dependencies are missing for this". Do you have a clue for this? I'm using Kubuntu 10.04, and I use zh-TW locale.

Thanks! - Jan 05 2011

Hi,

I can confirm that this has been fixed in the latest build. Thanks a lot! Glassfied is the best, you are the best!

Hi, thanks a lot for creating this charming theme! Always my best choice for Plasma.

Only that recently notes.svg is becoming not parsed by KDE 4.4 (but the same file was fine under 4.3), so the transparent sticky note can't display at all.

Could you confirm if this is a bug of KDE 4.4 itself? Thanks!
- May 11 2010
Hmmm, after the other day having updated to 2.0.1 which made the note transparent, I found that the tooltips or popups of digital clock, QuickAccess and plugged device etc. are not showing. There is indeed tooltip.svg in the directory, but I can't see them. Or are they just totally transparent? :p

I'm starting to wonder if it's because of compatibility with KDE 4.1...? - Jan 12 2009
Since I'm still using KDE 4.1, so I guess it's why I can't find the place to change the color of my note. But I did open the Hot Stuff and updated Glassified; after applying some theme else and the applying back, yes, the yellow annoying sticky has now got a transparent fashion! So great! It's even better than the original white glassy look of the old version!

So thank you painkiller for the overnight fix (for me it's overnight in Asia here :-) ) Also, I've noticed your signature quote and I like it.

Thank again for making this cool theme :) - Jan 10 2009
Hi, I have loved this theme since first sight, thank you :)

I used to have transparent note background with this theme, but today after updating to 2.0, I found that the note background has become yellow as KDE default. I really miss the transparent one within Glassified.

Could you confirm that the new version has dropped the background image of note applet? Could it be added back? Or can I get it back from somewhere? - Jan 09 2009

Hi, I have tried symlink.sh, and found that
ln -s ~/.icons/gk4ico /root/.icons/
in the last line, seems to have to be
ln -s ~/.icons/gk4ico /root/.icons
so that the linking operation of the directory can be successful :-) - Nov 27 2009
Oh it just occurred to me that I should find some readme in case I miss anything, so I have downloaded the binary package. I saw

1.Strange window appear at startup
Just Minimize it

If this is the only workaround for the time being, then I'll follow it. Thanks :) - Nov 26 2009
Hi, I haven't modified anything except installing the package itself. So is there any further hack I should take to prevent the window from appearing? Or is there any instruction I have missed? Thanks for your advice! - Nov 26 2009
Sorry I forgot to provide more details. Closing that window would terminate gtk-kde4 daemon; minimizing it could hide it. I hope that it could be hidden from the very beginning though... - Nov 25 2009
Please take a look at this screenshot: http://yfrog.com/31gtkkde4strangewindowp

This window appear on my machine every time gtk-kde4 daemon starts. Can it be hidden from appearing at all? My platform is Kubuntu 9.10, on Asus Eee PC 901, with Intel GMA 3100 chip mentioned above :) - Nov 25 2009
Hehe, the updated 0.9.3 Ubuntu package is not complete for download again (what I downloaded is of only 272 KB), could you check it out? Thanks a lot :) - Nov 23 2009
The window crashed and did not disappear, until I forced it to close (I forgot whether I used Compiz window button or KRunner to terminate it).

I'm using a Eee PC 901, with Intel Atom N270 CPU and Intel GMA 3100 video chip on board. - Nov 23 2009
All right, after removing "kcm-gtk" officially included with Kubuntu 9.10 and re-loggin into KDE, I saw a different GTK Application Style tab, and it's possible to set Gtk to use Qt style again, just like with gtk-qt-engine. After changing the settings and applying, a Window called "Changing Gtk+ Styles" pops out, but is not complete, and it seems to crash after a while. But Gtk+ styles are changed eventually. And your engine is actually doing a far better job than "kcm-gtk" and gtk-qt-engine!!! Oxygen (or Nitrogen I'm using) style is now perfectly applied to SCIM, Firefox, Nautilus, Gedit, CCSM, etc. No more glitches, and font, icon, color settings are well applied too.

Your gtk-kde4 (or "kcm-gtk-kde4" being its package name) seems not touching either .gtkrc-2.0-kde4 used by the other two packages, in my first exploration. And it looks quite successful. If it's been further proven, I'd suggest that KDE or Kubuntu should consider incorporating this package! - Nov 19 2009
Hi thanks for fixing it~ Now it's installable. However I encountered "unexpected error" when installing with KPackageKit. Never mind, its Python backend is always buggy.

I managed to install your package using GDebi instead (gdebi-kde actually), and it's successfully installed (it seems to depend on a couple of PPA packages isn't it? I saw KPackageKit grabbing libqtgui or something with PPA version number). Meanwhile eventually I found that the package installed is also called "kcmgtk-kde4". I guess it's still different with the "kcmgtk" currently available within Kubuntu official repositories, am I right?

In case of conflict, should I remove "kcmgtk" from Kubuntu in order to make your gtk-kde4 work? - Nov 19 2009
Hi I'm eager to try your package, hoping that root applications can be affected too (not with kcm-gtk, disappointing). However, the downloaded 0.9.1.1 package only has a 605.8 KB size, not 726 KB mentioned, and cannot be installed either by gdebi or by KPackageKit. Could you help confirm the package? Thanks! - Nov 19 2009

After Kubuntu 9.10 is installed, my synaptics touchpad is lacking two-finger horizontal scrolling, and also two-finger tapping and three-finger tapping are set reversely with my preference. Your KCM plugin is just the ideal graphic tool I'm looking for to fix the situation and it really does well what it says. So thanks a lot for developing it!

KDE should really incorporate this, since there has long been touchpad configuration tools on Gnome, but not so mature on KDE. - Nov 19 2009
