I downloaded the tar file and tried to compile it on my Kubuntu 7.04 pc. It gave me following error...

This Makefile is only for the CVS repository
This will be deleted before making the distribution
./admin/cvs.sh: 585: autoconf: not found
*** AUTOCONF NOT FOUND!.
*** KDE requires autoconf 2.52, 2.53 or 2.54
make[1]: *** [cvs] Error 1
make: *** [all] Error 2
