Hi. LOVE the various SteampunK themes, and have totally pimped out my system with them. All that is missing is a GRUB background, which I can easily do myself from the wallpapers, and an icon theme, which I can't even find mention of let alone make myself. Does anyone know of an icon theme that would go well with a SteampunKed KDE desktop? - Dec 22 2013

Don't worry - finally found "Configure Yakuake" - the tiny little bar at the bottom with even tinnier buttons was not visible in the default colour scheme (I only just installed this app) but after changing colours I could then see the bar, and found the appropriate button. Cheers - Dec 21 2013
Hi. I tried your installation instructions "Configure Yakuake > Appearance > Install", and while I figured out "Configure Yakuake" was right-click > "Edit Current Profile", there is no "Install" option in "Appearance". I could "Edit" the current theme to add the wallpaper, but I can't see any way to add this theme. Any ideas? - Dec 21 2013

Hahaha! Ooops! Seems this is in fact one of those that claim to be for 9.04 and 9.10, hahaha! Sorry, no offence meant to anyone, but SERIOUSLY, do your homework before making bold claims! - Dec 26 2009
In 9.10, GDM and Usplash are being replaced by XSplash. While technically it still uses Usplash at first, and the splashes do indeed have a .so extension and are found in the same folder as before, none of those will work (at least none of my old ones do). So, any splashes that work for earlier versions like 9.04 will not work for 9.10. I have even seen bozos misleading the masses by stating their usplashes are for Jaunty/Karmic. Hopefully people will start adding Ubuntu versions to the titles of their uploaded splashes to make it clearer if it will work in 9.10. - Dec 26 2009

Gotta love these guys who make wallpapers purely so they can spread their web addresses around. Like most of us are going to actually use these desktop adverts, let alone get curious enough to visit their sites. Glad to see there is finally a Gnome version of this cool set. However, installing it has mucked up my top panel somewhat, because the icons (or at least one that was replaced) are larger than usual, so the default minimal size of the panel - 25px - is ignored. The icons now look to be about 32px which means a bunch of the launchers are no longer visible. I'd suggest including 22px icons as well to counter this effect. Cheers - Jun 07 2009

Hey, since this changes the main menu button to the Gnome foot (at least it does on my system), why not make this theme even cooler by getting it to install the Starfleet logo or something and use that! My brother would probably move to Ubuntu if you got that happening, hehe! (Please - no anti-Ubuntu comments... we're all adults here, hehe! It's better than him relying on Windows for the rest of his life, and since he found a Star Trek LCARS theme for WindowBlinds, it's been harder to get him to try Linux).

A technician friend was contacted by someone frantically looking for the oil nipple on the motherboard, because he hadn't oiled it at all since buying it, and was extremely worried everything would soon come to a grinding halt!

The customer of course was told that if he did oil the motherboard, that was a sure way to bring his system to a halt, hehe. And perhaps cause a fire, hehe.

We seriously laughed to tears on that one... ignorance can be forgiven, but stupidity of that magnitude deserves to be laughed at heartily! Hehehe...

I think putting version numbers is a really bad idea, but then that's just my opinion. There are those poor pathetic souls who will come here just to flame you for daring to make something Ubuntu-related. Me, well I'd give the GDM theme a try if it wasn't for the 7.10, since I use 8.04. By putting in version numbers, it really limits how long people will use your themes... in the case of Ubuntu, you are ensuring your themes will be used for a maximum of 6 months. Just thought I better point that out. Cheers. - Jul 29 2008
