Same problem, here. =|

I use the GNOME Sensors Applet and the temperature text is black. However, if I change the theme to Equinox Evolution Dusk, which uses the dark gnome-panel too, everything is fine (the text is white). There's anything we can do to solve this? - Apr 29 2011

This is very nice, man. Great work! =D And using the Faenza icons makes a awesome integration with the desktop if someone (like me) is using them. =D

-----

Some things I would like to recommend you - hope you don't take it bad:

1) I know you liberated the source files, but once this is aimed to LibreOffice, IMHO you should liberate the finals as png files, since LibreOffice is using the intro and the about files in that format (at least, in version RC4, which is the one I'm using).

2) The files are intended to put on /usr/lib/libreoffice/program (backup first). It would be nice if it was on the description, so everyone knows where to paste them.

3) Edit (but first, backup) the /etc/libreoffice/sofficerc file and adjust to something like this:

Quote:
[Bootstrap]
HideEula=1
Logo=1
ProgressBarColor=152,155,149
ProgressFrameColor=152,155,149
ProgressPosition=20,230
ProgressSize=395,10

It will make a really nice and smooth boot.

You must be sick of so many people asking you for certains icons, but you're theme is so awesome, that it should be the most complete possible. =)

So, here are some apps I use that aren't already covered by Faenza:

- Alarm Clock [alarm-clock]
- Caffeine [caffeine]
- Glippy Clipboard Manager [glippy]
- Speedcrunch [speedcrunch] (IMO, a symlink to gnome-calculator is enough)
- Terminator [terminator] (a symlink to gnome-terminal is enough)
- Xmoto [xmoto] (it's a game, so I don't know if you're interest in making an icon to this one)
- Linux DC++ [linuxdcpp]
- Tucan Manager [tucan]
- wxBanker Finance Manager [wxbanker]
- GVim [gvim]
- Meld Diff Viewer [meld]
- NetBeans [netbeans]
- Sound Converter [soundconverter]
- Nautilus Actions Configuration [nautilus-actions-config-tool]
- StartUp-Manager [startupmanager]

I know it's to many and I apologize for that. =D

Keep up the fantastic work. ;) - Aug 28 2010

Well, that continues to be strange 'cause in my Karmic everything is fine. But I think I've found a solution for that problem (an icon name that seemed to be missing in the theme). I'm not telling that it'll definitely work, but it's worth the shot.
Run this command in the terminal:

ln -s -f /home/$USER/.icons/MacUltimate_Leopard/scalable/places/folder.png /home/$USER/.icons/MacUltimate_Leopard/scalable/places/gnome-folder.png

Then kill the gnome-panel (or change to other icon theme, and then change back), and let me know if it works. ;) - Feb 10 2010
The ones concerning System->Preferences, start alacarte (Alt+F2 and write "alacarte", or right click on the menu, and go to Edit Menus). There, go to the System->Preferences, and on the icons that don't appear, edit them, and click in the icon thing. It should work. It can require a kill of the gnome-panel.

On the applications you have in your launcher, the ones who don't have an icon, it should be because there's no icon for that application. Or if there's one, try the same thing I recommended above, but to the related app, off course.

Network Manager -> Don't have a fucking idea of what it could be. Never happened to me. Try to kill only the Network Manager and then restart it:
# sudo killall NetworkManager && sudo NetworkManager & - Feb 05 2010
"And just because 2000 people have downloaded it, and only 3 have raised issues, doesn't mean it's a freak glitch. Not everyone can be arsed to report a bug, and most people probably don't have a GL account."
Maybe I should not assume that if anyone as an issue, he/she would at least register to try to solve it, but I did it. And I've never said that it was a freak glitch, I just said that there where only 3 people reporting issues, which is not strange, and I tried my best to solve it.

"I've used your theme loads before and had no probs at all, this is just a bad release apparently."
As I said before, everything in my system is alright. I can't just solve other people's issues from where I'm sitting, but I can try to guide them to solve those issues. Ah, and this was just taken 2 minutes ago: http://i.imgur.com/2qMmn.png - Feb 05 2010
"It causes networkmanager to fudge up and close."
As I recommended in the issue above about the Battery Icon, did you tried to kill gnome-panel after that (or even kill the xserver, just once)? Sometimes, notification area icons have a strange behavior when a new icon theme is applied.

"Missing menu icons."
If I'm thinking about the same menu icons, they're not enabled by default in the GNOME version shipped with Ubuntu 9.10.

"The Place folder icons stay as the default Humanity icons."
Try to kill gnome-panel (yes, again).

"Don't have those problems with any other icon themes. Go figure."
In my system everything is fine. About 2000 people have downloaded the icon theme since the last update, and only 3 (including you) have reported problems. I've tried the best I could to explain why those problems occurred and solutions to them.

And you kept being rude, so, lets face some facts. I'm just a guy who started to do this for fun and decided to share the efforts with the community. Every time a new version comes out and I've got the time to install it, one of the first things I do, is check what's wrong in the icon theme, fix it and upload it to GNOME-Look.org, so everyone is able to use the theme in perfect conditions in the newest version. If it's right on my system, I assume that it must be right for other people's system.

But, if it's bad to you, and paraphrasing you, you don't have those problems with any other icon themes, use them. Maybe you'll be happier with them. - Feb 05 2010
I'm using Ubuntu Karmic Koala 9.10 and the icon theme fits perfectly in the system. I've even downloaded the pack from the link and installed it, just to see if everything went fine, and it did.

So, I don't know what could be happening in your situation. Try to extract the file and move it to /home/$USER/.icons and see if it works.

PS: By the way, that was a bit rude of you, don't you think? Maybe you could just ask why you had problems installing it or explain what problems occurred. That would be much more pleasant. Tell everyone to avoid it just because you encountered problems, doesn't seem right to me. :\ - Feb 05 2010
Well... I just don't know what that could be. =S

Try to copy the contents of the "24x24/status" folder and paste them in "22x22/status" and/or "16x16/status" (create the "status" folders, because they don't exist), and see what happens. - Feb 01 2010
It happened to me the first time, but after I killed gnome-panel (or you could try to kill the xserver or even reboot), everything worked out.

Try it, and if that don't work, maybe it's icon size related, so let me know which is the size of your gnome-panel. - Feb 01 2010
Not really. =S

Here's everything fine. That folders appear correctly. Did you try to kill the gnome-panel or kill the gdm or even reboot the computer? Just to make sure that everything is installed fine. And are you using Gnome 2.28.1? - Jan 30 2010

"Also, have you considered updating the navigation icons?"
I like the way they are in this theme (glossy).
I don't like so much the way they are in Leopard - but if you like, I think that if you install only the Mac4Lin GTK theme, they will appear just like in Leopard. - Jan 28 2010

The theme is the Mac4Lin RC theme. Attention, it's the RC version, not the final version (I don't like it as much as I like the RC one). I think that in the Mac4Lin site, at SourgeForge, you can find all the versions. Google it.

To install this icon pack, download it, open System -> Preferences -> Appearance, click on the Install button, navigate to the file and install it. - Jan 27 2010

'Cause that's not the away you should do it. As explained in the description, you should paste the content in /home/*user*/.config/awn/custom-icons

I've had answer that question sometime ago. But here's the answer again, so you don't have to search for it:

Almost every icon pack you download here at GNOME-Look.org are in PNG. It works wheter it's PNG, JPG or SVG, so I think that there's no problem with that. ;) - Sep 05 2009

Well, I can't help you in this. In my case, everything is fine, and that never happened to me.
Why you just don't use the System -> Preferences -> Appearance option to install the pack? It's easier then cut/paste in the .icons folder. - Jun 17 2009
Yes, you can use this theme in 9.04.
Just download it, go to System -> Preferences -> Appearance, then click the Install Theme button (or something like that), surf to whereas you put the tar.gz and install it.

Soon I'll update the pack with some minor changes due to some new things that came with the new version of GNOME, bundle with Ubuntu 9.04. - Jun 15 2009
Well, I really don't know what's up. In my case, everything you pointed out is fine.
Try to install the new update, and if it doesn't solve your problems, say something. - Dec 10 2008
Just extract the file in /home/*user*/.icons and you'll be able to use the icon theme. - Dec 05 2008
I don't know what's up, 'cause I can download the file. Try with this Linklist: http://rapidshare.com/users/T5JZFL - Dec 03 2008
As long as I know, that problem is related to the gtk theme and not the icon theme. However, I think I can help you.
Go to your /home/*USER*/.themes/*GTK-THEME*/gtk-2.0 and open gtkrc. Search for something like 'panel' or 'gnome-panel' and change the values. I think it will work (if not, let me know). - Dec 01 2008

As long as I understand, you're talking about Avant Window Navigator. Here's the link: https://launchpad.net/awn. It's easy to install, just follow the instructions. - Sep 28 2008
Ok and thanks for your opinion. Maybe I'll do that next time I update the pack. - Aug 19 2008
A resposta está acima em inglês para todos perceberem.

Não sou brasileiro, sou português. E muitos brasileiros usam Linux, ou não houvesse a distro brasileira que é o Kurumim e muitos sites dedicados a Linux. - Aug 19 2008
I admit that the Mac4Lin's folder icons are very nice and I like them too, but this icon theme aims to be Mac-a-like and the folder icons bundle with the theme are the Leopard ones, so I think that's the right choice. - Aug 19 2008
Well, you can always search on the apps folder for an alternate distributor-logo icon and paste it in the places folder to substitute for the "black ubuntu icon". It's the only choice I've got for you. - Aug 19 2008
Well, I have to say once again, that's strange 'cause here it appears fine. But that doesn't mean I don't have a solution for you. Just run your terminal and paste this lines (don't forget to change *user*):

cd /home/*user*/.icons/MacUltimate_Leopard/24x24/apps/
cp gnome-netstatus-0-24.png ../../scalable/apps/
cp gnome-netstatus-25-49.png ../../scalable/apps/
cp gnome-netstatus-50-74.png ../../scalable/apps/
cp gnome-netstatus-75-100.png ../../scalable/apps/

I'm pretty sure that this will work. Give feedback, please. - Aug 03 2008
That's strange. It seems fine in my gnome-panel. Could you please take a screenshot and post here (upload to some host) so I can see it? Maybe that way I can tell you what to do. - Aug 02 2008
Well, I think that the Opera's icon is nice, but if you don't think that, I've this options for you:
- Another Opera icon: http://i38.tinypic.com/2cep15i.jpg ;
- Use the Safari icon instead of the Opera icon: http://i35.tinypic.com/2cscm5s.jpg ;
- Remove the Opera icon and use the default one;

Choose one option and navigate to your /home/*user*/.icons/MacUltimate_Leopard/scalable/apps folder. In there, you'll have all the applications icons. Search for the Opera one (opera.png) and delete it. If you want to use the default icon, you're done, but if you want to use one of the other two icons, rename it to opera.png and paste it in the folder. After that, kill the gnome-panel (Alt+F2: killall gnome-panel), and now you have the Opera icon of your choice. - Jul 24 2008
That's your opinion, I respect but don't agree with.

Well, I have to admit, I not only like the Mac design, I like MacOSX Leopard (and almost everything Apple related), but I don't have the money to buy an Apple computer, so why can't I have my Ubuntu with a taste of Mac? I like the Mac design and I really like Ubuntu too (it's the best Linux distro I've every tried), so why I can't have a Mac-a-like theme (including icon pack) in my Ubuntu? It's two things that I like joined in only one. It's my choice, it's my taste.

And unlike you, I don't think this destroy Linux. Linux is all about configuration, so, if I'm configuring mine in a way I like, I'm not destroying Linux. It has a Mac design, but in what it matters, it's still Linux. - Jul 24 2008
Yeah, you're totally right. I didn't know what to put in the license field, so I checked some other Icon Themes (including the Mac ones) and most of them says GPL, so I did the same. That was not the better way and by that fact, the license is changed. - Jun 18 2008
I don't use the Control Center (I use the common Preferences/Administration) to manage my System, so I didn't realize that bug in the icon pack. Thanks for the lights up.

The quickest way to make the keyboard icon normal is just run your terminal and paste this line:

rm /home/*your_user*/.icons/MacUltimate_Leopard/scalable/apps/32/gnome-settings-keybindings.png

Now you have a normal keyboard icon in your Control Center. - Jun 17 2008
Right now, I cannot do it, but tomorrow I'll re-up the file into other mirror and leave the link here. - Jun 17 2008
Of course there is a way to replace the apple icon with the ubuntu icon. To make it quick, just paste this in your terminal:

cd /home/*your_user*/.icons/MacUltimate_Leopard_1.0/scalable/places
ln -s -f main-menu.png start-here.png
ln -s -f main-menu.png gnome-main-menu.png
killall gnome-panel

Don't forget to replace *your_user* with your username.

And there it is, the black ubuntu icon in your panel.
