I think it should be "Dont panic kernel" or "Dont kernel panic". LOL that was a lame joke sorry...
- Dec 10 2007
I will try and upload a bigger version for now try the *.svg in the compressed package.
My apologies you can upload your own bigger version if you want? Its public domain so its all yours no license! - Dec 08 2007

I'm guessing the icons are Public Domain?
- Nov 12 2007
I love the icons. Keep em' coming.
- Aug 22 2007
I cannot resize the swirls but if you want the original GIMP file let me know (includes everybody as well)... I don't have a screen that supports 1600x1200 unfortunately. you could use that wallpaper and center it and change the background colour to #4c4c4c might work.
- Jul 12 2007
I don't actually think its much of a problem. I think a blur or even slecting the corners and using the feather feature in The GIMP.
Other than that all is good! - Oct 13 2005

The corners look a bit shoddy in this Laptop TFT screen. I do not know if its down to metacity or graphics used.
- Oct 12 2005
Looks nice and infact some thing new. I cannot say much about the background but the ball looks nice!
- Oct 12 2005
Is this some sleezy Vista promotion?
I will not touch these icons even with a 20ft barge pole. - Oct 11 2005

Well I was not too keen on the icons you used so I ended up changing the look. And the GPL says I need to publish changes.
Its nice work otherwise I would not have used it or any one else. - Oct 08 2005

Sorry I thought it was GPL'ed. Meaning I can obtain the source and freely edit and redistribute it...
Sorry to be a troll but people should revise the license they wish to distribute their work under and know what rights they have as the author.
I hope people relise this before they submit work. I wish that the webmaster would point this out to people also. - Oct 07 2005

Sorry about that I decided to upload it to Geocities (yahoo) and I guess they don't like it..?

I think the flesh is boobs. And the hair is just hair from 2 women.
Well I would not call this a family GDM theme but its some thing different. Good work! - Oct 06 2005

OK I downloaded this for my debian box...
Also about the name? whats the deal? You are free to name your work as you like in reality.
happy hacking! - Oct 04 2005

It might be that I am lazy but you can edit this how ever you like. The SVG is provided so people can have the freedom to change things to this thats why this image is truly GPL licensed.
You can do this easily by either using the SVG as a wallpaper or you could use Inkscape/Sodipodi to change it then of course upload it so every one else can enjoy the changes.
PS. I dont ask for credit I just find it an honour for people to use my work! - Sep 28 2005

Well in windows you can use 7zip or Winrar. They both as far as I know support all types of archives
- May 25 2005
Hey thanks!
- Apr 27 2005
You might find this maybe possible in the future especially with the X Composite Manager. I think any one with a lot of programming skill will be able to do it with transset-df. When transparency is on the windows it will need to render blur. This can give your system a huge beating.
- Sep 07 2005
Why use Raster images? Raster images cannot be easily changed... nothing wrong with using them its just that its for clip art which are usually vector images being used. Perhaps uploading a SVG or XCF in the future?

The proper way to install a cursor theme via gnome is:
Step 1 - Extract the cursor theme to ~/.icons
Step 2 - open up gconf and goto desktop/gnome/periferals/mouse and then edit cursor_theme to the one in ~/.icons
It has to be the same name as the theme folder in ~/.icons - Sep 04 2005

Another words I though the background would stay how it is while content is scrolled.

Have they really implemented ext3? Isnt that licensed to Open sofwtare licenses?

This has been rated bad for many reasons. Most GNU Linux users hate propiety. Apple are greedy when it comes down to iPods because they are trying to "lock" out everything from using its own media format and also Apple do not support Linux at all.
The best thing would be to design something like a MP3 Player but don't specify it (give it a name and make it look too much like the one its based on). - Apr 29 2005

that will look cooler if that was a splash screen for gnome and I would definatly use it then.
- Oct 10 2004
I added the SVG for three reasons.
1, Some one might like to edit it
2, Gnome supports SVG's as wallpapers
3, People can make a bigger version of the wallpaper. Use a app like sodipodi or inkscap.... to turn the image into somthing more static - Sep 22 2004

sorry if I sounded a bit blunt but everaldo's crystal icons are every where and too common.
- Sep 21 2004
Even though it looks good its also one of the reasons why I switched to the more stable desktop is because to get away from the 4D icons.
- Sep 21 2004
It looks good BUT! the display pic is tiny so I'm going to try it out

Well I know that KDE doesnt stop at linux because it can actually be compiled to work on FreeBSD just like most GNU/Linux apps.
- Aug 27 2004
