My mistake. I was using qt5 and haven't noticed this. Compiles fine with qt4. - Aug 26 2014

Feature request: Window corners UnRounding at the screen edge.

It would be a nice feature to have an option of selectively disabling corners rounding when the window corner is at the edge of the screen (picture 2).

That would solve a very common problem as well.
Putting a normal window in the screen corner over a maximized one makes the window in the bottom be visible in the corner (picture 3). Now when you want to close the window in the front, you may easily close the one in the bottom by mistake.
Corner unrounding would solve this issue (picture 4). - Jan 10 2011
I get this error when building QtCurve 0.63.0 for KDE4:

ultr@ultra:/mnt/ultr/data/install/kde/qtcurve/deb/0.63.0 make/QtCurve-KDE4-0.63.0/build$ cmake ..
CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake-2.6/Modules/FindKDE4.cmake:72 (MESSAGE):
ERROR: cmake/modules/FindKDE4Internal.cmake not found in
Call Stack (most recent call first):
CMakeLists.txt:71 (find_package)

I have Qt3, Qt4 and Gtk on my system, but only KDE3 and Gnome - no KDE4.
However I use some Qt4 applications, so it would be nice to have QtCurve theme in those applications too. - Jun 07 2009
1) I cannot find any color responsible for disabled items in KControl. Where should I change it?

3) Would be nice to have an option to choose this behavior. Text color (black) does not look well with light selection colors :/ - May 08 2009
Versions above 0.61.4 have some minor problems which makes me use this version :/

1) KDE3: Inactive menu items are much darker than before, making it easy to mistake them with active items.

2) GTK: Alternate background is not honored in lists (ex. Synaptic) making all rows look the same, while every second row should have different background.

3) KDE3: Selected items in active lists are marked with border in black instead of selected color (focus rectangle = background color). However rectangles for buttons and many other widgets are drawn properly. - May 07 2009
Oups, haven't noticed this. Sorry. - Mar 13 2009
There is also something wrong with listview items drawing in active window. It has an additional black frame.
This was also present in 0.62.1.

here is a screenshot: - Mar 13 2009
I have just compiled QtCurve 0.62.2, and it solves most problems with 0.62.1, apart from KDE3 icons in GTK.

The last working version was 0.61.4. Since 0.62.1 KDE3 icon theme is ignored by GTK applications. - Mar 13 2009
I use 'fully rounded' option for widgets. However some of them are drawn with errors on the corners.

Here are some examples:

I have already disabled this option both in mine and root's kcontrol.

It seems you are right with KDE_SESSION_VERSION.
kdesu "KDE_SESSION_VERSION=3 synaptic"
works. - Mar 03 2009

This worked for me in QtCurve up to 0.60.0.

Now I have downloaded and compiled version 0.61.4, and using kdesu results in ignoring custom colors again :) All colors are default.
Programs run with su are styled properly. - Mar 02 2009
CraigD helped me to solve the problem.

File /root/.qt/qtrc was missing. It should have been created by root's kcontrol, so that may be a bug in the KDE.

I symlinked it to mine qtrc file, and now everything works file. Both with su and kdesu.

I have noticed this tab highlighting behavior:

It does only affect Qt3 applications.

I don't know if this can be a bug in QtCurve or somewhere else. However tabs in many kde3 programs behave in the same way.

This is my QtCurve config:

Tested on latest QtCurve version (0.60.0).

Debian Lenny :) - Feb 09 2009
Thank you for your answer.

My paths:

$ echo $GTK2_RC_FILES

# echo $GTK2_RC_FILES

kdesu 'kdialog --msgbox $GTK2_RC_FILES'

kdesu 'GTK2_RC_FILES=/usr/share/themes/QtCurve/gtk-2.0/gtkrc synaptic'
does not work - all default colors

kdesu 'GTK2_RC_FILES=/home/ultr/.gtkrc-2.0-kde:/home/ultr/.kde/share/config/gtkrc-2.0 synaptic'
works partially (just like running with su)
- Feb 09 2009
Kdesudo not installed :) - Feb 09 2009
I did an image illustrating how QtCurve behaves in different situations:

Unfortunately what Ace2016 said does not work.
Checking/unchecking this for root does not change anything.
Unchecking this for my user does not affect my applications. Instead it makes root's synaptic use all default colors (just like in window 5) irrespective of using kdesu or su.
Of course I restarted my KDE.

I use version 0.52.3 form Debian Lenny. - Feb 08 2009
I use KDE3. And I did set the colors for root in `kdesu kcontrol`.

The problem only appears in GTK applications run with su/kdesu. - Feb 08 2009
I noticed, that when program is being run with su, some colors are different from these selected in the configuration.

The example may be Synaptic, run as root.

Window, selection colors are OK.
But progress bars and menu bar items colors are completely different (default?). They should be green, but appear in light blue.

How can this be solved? - Feb 08 2009

You say that this theme uses system colors.

But the hidden panel glow (shown when mouse is near the screen edge) is always light blue. I have no such color in my settings.

Is it possible to change the color of this glow?

It should either be set to the selection color, or (even better) be configurable independently.

Thanks. - Jul 31 2010
Another problem I noticed:

The pager displays only windows' frames, so you cannot differ a maximized window from an empty desktop. Quite annoying :/

Windows should have a darker filling, or you should fix maximized windows frame drawing, so that it is visible. - Jul 30 2010
Great theme, thank you.

However it would be more readable, if minimized windows had gray or semi-transparent font in the taskbar.
Could you add this? - Jul 30 2010

I noticed there already is a legacy function for this :)

To activate it edit lyrics_lyricwiki.rb file, comment out:

# begin
# $getLyricWikiSOAP ="").create_rpc_driver
# rescue
# errormsg = 'Failed to establish a connection with SOAP Server. is either down or experiencing an problem with their SOAP server. The script will run, but will be less responsive than usual.'
# `dcop amarok playlist popupMessage "#{errormsg}"`
# $useSOAP = false
# rescue Timeout::Error
# errormsg = 'Failed to establish a connection with SOAP server. The connection timed out. The script will run, but will be less responsive than usual or may not be able to contact at all.'
# `dcop amarok playlist popupMessage "#{errormsg}"`
# $useSOAP = false
# end

and add below:

$useSOAP = false

And that's all :)

BTW: FSCK YOU, recording industry! You attack your own customers. And you will pay for that. - Aug 28 2009
Now, when LyricWiki API has been closed, you get this instead of the lyric:

Unfortunately, due to licensing restrictions from some of the major music
publishers we can no longer return lyrics through the LyricWiki API (where this
application gets some or all of its lyrics).
(Please note: this is not the fault of the developer who created this
application, but is a restriction imposed by the music publishers themselves.).

However this should be quite easy for the script to simply read the LyricWiki page content to get the song text from it.

Any patches? :)

You can use SVG icon, open it with Inkscape or similar program, and simply remove the K logo. It is a single item in the image.

Then you should get an SVG logo of Slackware and insert it into the image, if you want to have SVG version of your icon as well. - Mar 09 2009

Awesome cursors :D Thank you.

However they lack of 2 cursors:
- copy - default mouse with a plus (+) box under it
- shortcut - also default mouse with shoutcut-arrow box under it

It would be great if you would add those. I'm not very talented, so cannot do it myself :/
