Description: *Update*: The initialization error has been fixed.
This plasmoid gives you a little icon which you can single-click to enable/disable your screensaver so it does (not) start automatically. Double-clicking the icon will start your screensaver immediately.Last changelog:
This really needs tooltips saying clearly which is the active mode and to which mode it will switch too. Color/gray isn't clear. Normally widgets and buttons and everything popup a tooltip explaining what it is. This is especially true when the button isn't obvious.
Also, double clicking doesn't open screensaver, it locks the screen
opensuse 13.1 x86_64 , kde 4.14.4
suddenly today the icon of your app is very tiny .
we hardly see the icon .
all other app in the systray have not this pb.
i did not change any desktop theme .
these last days there were several updates about kde
Thank you very much for the plasmoid!
It would be really nice a quick timer, where you can easily choose the time that the plasmoid is off (screen/energy saver disabled), and of course after that time the plasmoid is automatically turned on.
After one of the last update of the system... the plasmoid does not start.
A warning message about a python script problem appear !
Suse OS 12.3 KDE 4.10.5
Please make sure you have python script support for plasma installed. It may have been removed by an update because nothing depends on it anymore. On my kubuntu the package is called plasma-scriptengine-python. Also check if python 2.7 is installed, but this should be a dependency of plasma-scriptengine-python.
Please let me know if you can solve the problem, otherwise I may find the time to set up a VM with openSuSE to be able to reproduce the problem.
Hello, nice program but we don't know if screen saver is activated or deactivated. Every notification icon normally has a tooltip that explains what it is, you should use tooltips saying "automatic screensaver on", "automatic screensaver off" or something like that.
Thanks for developing useful software.
I thought I had the requested functionality directly in the icon: If the screensaver will activate automatically, the icon is a coloured screensaver icon, if it is disabled, it is in grayscale.
In my opinion this should be much easier (and more intuitive?) to recognize than a tooltip for which the mouse has to be moved over the icon.
If you still wish the tooltip I hope I find this in the not really good documented api...
You mean the color corresponds to "screensaver is allowed"? I don't find this intuitive nor obvious, because of the nature of the widget. A blacked out icon usually means something is disabled but in the case of this specific widget, it could mean "the widget is disabled, therefore the screensaver is not inhibited" - meaning the opposite of the symbolic you chose.
I find the one in gnome2/mate is clear, the icon means obviously "sleep" and when you toggle it, there's a red circle with a bar above it, meaning without possible confusion "won't go to sleep". With just colors I find it easier to be confused.
If tooltips are complicated to code, I think at the very least users should be informed somewhere that the color means screensaver is allowed and the blacked out icon means screensaver is inhibited. Like in the widget description or in some "About" popup dialog.
Thanks for following up.
Hello, thanks for this great little plasmoid! One problem is that on restarting my system the plazmoid never initializes. I always have to delete it from my desktop and then replace it.
Otherwise i love it for watching movies online!
Cheers.
I'm aware of this problem, and I also wish I had managed to fix this already.
But as this only occurs at login time, just finding the problem is rather time-consuming as I have to log off and on again every time I make some changes to my source code.
If you have an idea what exactly the problem is, please let me know, perhaps fixing will then be much faster.

HELLO, can this be fixed please
